(CNN) -- A North Carolina man is accused of arranging to have his wife raped through personal ads on the Web site Craigslist, police said Wednesday.

The 25-year-old man, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, was arrested in connection with the incident that occurred at his home early Sunday, police said in a statement.

Police responded to the home at about 2:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call indicating a male armed with a knife appeared in the couple's bedroom and sexually assaulted the man's wife, authorities said.

The man was present at the time of the assault, and two young children were in the home, but were unharmed and unaware of the incident, the police statement said.

I can understand (not agree with) a man wanting his wife whacked, but this is just plain mean.

CNN reports investigators believe [he] arranged this incident without the knowledge or consent of the victim.

What's the big deal here? Isn't this what happens every time a mother invites a doctor to enter her womb and dismember her unborn child? Each of those incidents, legal under a right to privacy, are arranged without the knowledge or consent of the victim, aren't they? Am I the only one who sees the irony in the fact that the victim here was a woman sleeping in her own home? And besides, it wasn't like she was killed or anything.

All of you self-respecting, enlightened pro-choice advocates who take exception to this story need to lighten up and concentrate on maintaining a consistent position, seriously. And to all of you who say, "Don't like abortion?, then don't have one," I say, "Don't like rape?, then don't commit one." Both positions, reasonable minds would agree, ignore the victim, but hey, what's that go to do with anything, right?

Dude, are you outta your tree?

I think it was a case of using absurdity to demonstrate absurdity.

He was still way out of line by implying it was Ok for a woman to be raped and no big deal because she was not killed.

Do not try to defend such a vile post.

That woman was attacked at knife point, while her sick, bastard of a husband watched. Her children were in the house too....OMG!

Believe it or not, there was an episode of The Closer that followed this line. A woman's boyfriend used the woman's computer to put an ad on a Craiglist-type service saying she wanted to be raped and that she would leave a key under a rock by the door. She ended up being killed when she fought back against her assailant.

I can't imagine the victim of this assault will ever be able to trust anyone again as long as she lives.

There was an episode of SVU similar to this.

It was a bitter ex boyfriend who was stalking the woman though and used her e-mail on a rape fantasy chat room and set it up.

the post is disgusting.

What's disgusting is a society that tolerates abortion in which an innocent victim's life snuffed out. When people start reacting to abortion as you did to my "modest proposal", maybe the killing will stop.
