Gordon Brown: Labour's dilemma (Lefty London Broadsheet Wants His Head!)
The Guardian ^ | 3 June 2009 | Editorial Board

[snip]

Final paragraph:

All must agree that the die is cast and a hard judgment made. Otherwise progressive politics will be dragged down at a general election in May 2010 that could lead to a much bigger defeat than Labour suffered in 1979. That might bring a chance for other parties to take it forward, as the Liberal Democrats are trying to do in this election. But they are not placed to enter government. Labour has a year left before an election; its current leader would waste it. It is time to cut him loose.

Gee whiz, even if the Tories win, it ain't like the Thatcherites are taking over. There's virtually no diff between the parties now. :-\

True. It’s socialist and socialist lite, just like it’s become here.

Brown will delay the election till next year (5 years since last election) just like John Major did when he was sure to lose.

Labour could recover but I doubt it, they’re best bet is if Brown steps down. David Cameron (related to the Royal Family. Direct descendant of William the Conqueror) will be the next Prime Minister.

How much better the Cameron Tories will be, I don’t know, but they can’t be worse than Labour.

"David Cameron (related to the Royal Family. Direct descendant of William the Conqueror)"

My how the apple has fallen way far away from the tree...

It’s not his fault, it’s cause greatX3 grandma was illegitimate! This placed a taint on his soul.

Which is the only reason he’s not like 3000th in line for his 5th cousin twice removed’s throne! Silly monarchy.

That would at least explain his galactic-level sense of entitlement and fascistic inclinations.

Cameron's the British version of a RINO. Sadly I don't think he'll improve things anymore than Sarko did in France.

Had no idea of his "royal bloodline" lineage. I'm not sure how that worked. I always thought people who could prove they're a "direct descendant" of a british monarch were entitled to some silly title like "His excellency the grand Duke of Wessex", and probably could twist some arms and get a seat in the house of Lords instead of the house of Commons. Politicians would probably prefer the first, since that would ensure they get a lifetime salary without having to actually legislate anything.

Doesn't matter anyway. An aussie forklift operator is the true King of England (direct descendant of King Edward III), and not Lizzy, who is a descendant of bastard child Edward IV. All hail his majesty, King Michael I!

Cameron is descended from William IV and his girlfriend that he lived with before being King, they had 10 children.

Most heredity peers can no longer sit in the Lords and the prohibition on them serving in the Commons was abolished.

And the Lords aren’t paid a salary, just a small per diem for every day they actually go to ‘work’.

At this point it’s a completely pointless chamber.

Queen Betty Glucksburg’s 2 grandchildren though her daughter actually have no titles despite being 11th and 12th in line for throne.
