Hey O'Reilly! Stuff a sock in it you bloviating windbag!

Re: Your on-air bashing of Free Republic

So, you think that because one poster on FR comments that a diabetic supreme court nominee might not live to a ripe old age that all 350,000 of us are insensitive right-wing loons?

Got news for you pal. The owner of Free Republic (namely me) is diabetic and I've already lost one leg due to this despicable disease and the other leg looks like it's ready to fall off any day now. My sister died of complications brought on by juvenile diabetes at the tender age 43. I've out-lived her in years, but I don't think I'll be signing on to any life term judgeships. And I sure as hell wouldn't wish this disease on anyone else.

Hey, what can I say. My political enemies make fun of the one-legged old gimp every day of the week. Good thing I'm not as sensitive as you about such nonsensical non-issues.

And if it's impossible for a minority to be racist, then it's impossible for a diabetic to be insensitive. /sarc

But, I do agree with you on one thing. We FReepers are a bunch of right-wing loons, bitterly clinging to our guns and religion. And proud of it you elitist gasbag!

"I realize now that my point has fallen on deaf ears. I realize it has become quite the sport in cyberspace for folks to attack each other and toss old-fashioned manners out the window when having discussions. Just another sign of the times I suppose."

Like BOR's tossing around the label of "pinhead"?

I get your point (but must say you're a tad over sensitive IMO), but the thread is about BOR yet again trying to discredit FR as a bunch of right wing loons - twisting and distorting the facts. There is too much at stake with Zero dismantling the constitution to allow a dufus like BOR to discredit an entire population with a blatant hack job report. If BOR is so influential, and he's so fair and balanced, he ought to become much better informed about things that really matter - like facts, free speech, and conservative principles.

he has his conservative moments....then reverts to some leftist tack....He blows up at scumbags like Barney Fag, but for the wrong reasons(though I enjoyed immensely his dressing down of the queer legislator).

He tends to be rather dumb...although I tend to agree with him a good chunk of the time....probably by serendipity.

he is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle etc. etc.

Thanks JimRob for dressing him down

Good letter Jeff. I’d like to see BO have Jim on (if Jim would go) and try to say FR is a hateful site, to his face.

I like FR just the way it is, thank you very much. I keep reminding the moderators to keep a light hand on the tiller. FR is the voice of the people. If it’s too rough for O’Reilly’s delicate sensitivities, tough!

Hope he keeps up the great work though. Every time he mentions FR on the air, our readership spikes.

Yeah, I’m sure our founding fathers would have been all for legalizing dope and porno.

Oh Yeah, the old weak porno and drugs line... a typical uninformed statement.

But to answer a question that you should or would know if you actually read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and any writings by the founders. Yes, the founders believed that as long as you do not infringe on another citizens rights, then pretty much anything went.

Nah, not “over sensitive”, more like “old-fashioned”. I’ve called people “pinheads” before too, but not usually to their face. ;) And I don’t have good things to say about Obama, loony libs and those in the Democrat party who support and help them. I’m no saint either.

I freely admit that I don’t care for much of the circle-shooting going on around here. Sure doesn’t seem very productive to me.

Like you said, with Obama dismantling (I’d say, “destroying”) our Constitution and his fast-moving destruction of our once great country we have far bigger fights to fight than wasting our time insulting our fellow conservatives. We’d better get our act together, and come together before it is too late.

You don’t earn respect by being disrespectful and you don’t convince others that you aren’t what they think you are by acting in a way that confirms their suspicions.

As for O’Reilly vs FR, let the chips fall where they may. I’m done with it.

"In my opinion, this forum would have been wiser to respectfully contact O'Reilly and explain how one comment does not reflect the views of the vast majority of those who post here.

That's really rich.

The poster did not offend BOR, so it wasn't any of O'Reilly's business to even pretend to be offended by a snide remark made on our forum.

Obviously you aren't aware that BOR was once the darling of FR. Fact is, his rise to the top of the FOX pedestal can be credited to his popularity on Free Republic and other conservative forums.

Now that BOR can't hide his true Liberal colors he throws a temper tantrum about Free Republic and YOU want Jim Rob to treat this man with respect?! Unbelievable!

We made him, but he's breaking himself against us.

I'd rather watch Nancy Grace than him..that's how bad he is.

I have already explained why I said what I said and I’m not going to do it yet again. I’m not emotionally involved so my perspective is bound to be different from yours. I can respect your opinion. Can you respect mine?

And no, spectre, not everyone knows every bit of FR history, every past battle, every past slight. I’m sorry for you if you find that disturbing.

CNN, MSNBC, and the other liberal misinformation stations ought to be banned from any conservative household, in my opinion. I refuse to help their ratings.

"I freely admit that I don't care for much of the circle-shooting going on around here. Sure doesn't seem very productive to me."

If you mean Freepers are shooting each other, I don't see much of that. In a population this large and diverse (geo, eco, faith, etc.), it's bound to happen. I've had dust-ups with some dopie folks that I regretted because I'm drug down to their level (Prov 26:4).

But, if you are talking about bashing high profile conservatives, I call that debate. I didn't know much about Romney apart from what I've heard from his mouth on the talk show circuit. He sounds really conservative and bright. Do a search on FR for comments on him. Some have really done their homework and it's clear that Romney is not who he wants the national public to think he is. If you call that a circular shootout - it's a free country to have your own opinion (for now).

When people are debating deeply held or ingrained beliefs, it can get a little heated and rough. When that happens, it tends to make people do a lot more digging - sharpening their rhetoric and sharing their insight to prove their point or disprove the other's. That's how the best information is brought to the surface.

Sure, there are simpletons who can't string together a coherent sentence, so they revert to banal name calling, but that's the exception versus norm. I like the fruits that grow out of a vigorous debate. If you do too, this is a great place to hang out. If that's not your cup of tea, there are alternatives that are more "civil" (although I think the vast majority here are very respectful).

Hey O'Reilly! Stuff a sock in it you bloviating windbag!

What kind of sock? A crew? Knee sock? Maybe an ankle sock? What color? Would it be a new one or an old, worn scruffy one with stiffness around the toe and ankle?

Seriesly though, O'Reilly can fold it five ways and stick it where the moon don't shine.

I appreciate your comments, uncommonsense, and agree with them. I also “like the fruits that grow out of a vigorous debate”. There have been instances in my ventures into cyberspace where I learned something that changed my opinion on a particular politician or issue. Romney is a good example of that. At first I thought he might be someone I could support, but then I researched, listened and learned more about him....and what I learned changed my opinion of him.

I don’t mind passionate and heated debates. Lord knows I’m not perfect either and have regretted comments I’ve made online. It’s those “simpletons who can’t string together a coherent sentence, so they revert to banal name calling” and some simpletons who can be coherent but are just plain rude and far too quick to judge and insult others that are irritating to me. I’ll just have to work harder at ignoring them.

You seem to be a good soul there, uncommonsense. God bless you.

Bill O’ is simply trying to play to liberals and conservatives , when he reaches NEITHER with his rampant fence-sitting. One would think taking that tack would give him hemorrhoids...
