WHAT IF ALL THE STUDENTS at Notre Dame WALKED OUT, leaving Barack Obama speaking to an empty auditorium? Notre Dame is a CATHOLIC, Pro-Life university. Students will BOYCOTT Obama's commencement address this weekend, May 16-17.
They have set up a website at: http://www.ndresponse.com/
and a stirring video at -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KUBdrrbF6o
Demonstration Confirmed ND Response has received official permission to hold a prayerful and constructive demonstration on the South Quad of the University of Notre Dame between 11am and 4pm on the day of Commencement. The students of this coalition would like to extend an invitation to all those interested in joining us on campus on May 17th as we respectfully give witness to Notre Dame's Catholic identity and pro-life principles.
About Us In defense of the unborn, we wish to express our deepest opposition to Reverend John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.s invitation of President Barack Obama to be the University of Notre Dames principal commencement speaker and the recipient of an honorary degree. Our objection is not a matter of political partisanship, but of President Obamas hostility to the Catholic Churchs teachings on the sanctity of human life at its earliest stages. Further, the Universitys decision runs counter to the policy of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops against honoring pro-choice politicians. We cannot sit by idly while the University honors someone who believes that an entire class of human beings is undeserving of the most basic of all legal rights, the right to live.
Additionally, Fr. Jenkins has put some of his students into a position of moral dilemma as to whether they should attend their own graduation. Many pro-life seniors, along with their families, now feel personally conflicted about participating in the commencement. The lack of concern for these devoted sons and daughters of Notre Dame, who love this University and the Catholic principles on which it was built, is shameful.
An ad hoc committee sponsored by a coalition of University-sponsored student groups has been organized to lead student responses. These groups include:
Notre Dame Right to Life Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 1477 Jus Vitae (Notre Dame Law School Right to Life) The Irish Rover independent student newspaper Notre Dame College Republicans The University of Notre Dame Anscombe Society The Identity Project of Notre Dame Notre Dame Militia Immaculata Notre Dame Children of Mary The Orestes Brownson Council Notre Dame Law St. Thomas More Society
Moseley, I’m hoping as soon as the s.o.b. starts talking about half the folks there get up and turn their backs and walk out.
Love to see a few protesters get sacked by the secret service.
Love to see the heavens part and a lightning bolt strike the community organizer and knock sense into to his sorry rear end.
Course he’ll get a standing ovation and Notre Dame and Catholics should hang their heads in shame.
Not true of all. Some just wanted to have a normal graduation like most other folks and a couple fool adults ruined it. Yes, I wish they would walk out, too.
Hard to do. The parents snatched up ticket for their families some time ago. The crowd in the cheap seats will be all parents and family. And, the only thing that happens at the graduation other than speeches is the awarding of PhDs, a lot to Chinese and other foreign students.
No undergraduate names are read. They just have each department stand up. "English Department." Yay! "Chemistry Department." Yay! They don't even get their diplomas. That happens when they turn in their gowns after the 'ceremony.' It's really kind of anticlimactic. Sometimes parents can't even see their kid in the crowd.
The real graduations take place on the department level at an earlier time. The kids and their classmates get their names read and shake hands with the professors in the department. Everybody know everybody. Much nicer. AND, no pro-abortion, anti-capitalism President Ponzi.
Thanks. That is good to know.
And I can't think of a more meaningful way to have their day than to send a message.
Even if 20% of the class skipped out, it would be tremendous.
Agreed. Father Jenkins has made sure that it is NOT their day.
It is all about him and Zero, the slaughter of innocents is to be ignored.
I hope these 21 and 22 year olds will realize that the most significant, meaningful thing they could do that day is to turn their back on both these clowns and deny them an audience.
The parents won’t walk, most of the grads won’t walk. I just hope and pray he doesn’t get much applause or the telepromter reads a script from the musical Hair.
I would walk in, then stand up and walk-out right before Obama speaks, and then walk back in in time to receive my diploma!
He’s such a uniter.
Tell that to the millions of murdered babies.....!
They could attach a bootie to their tassel....
It might be if the poster had mastered the mysteries of capitalization and punctuation.
Without those aspects, it is trash.
Obama will hire an ethnically diverse group of stand ins to take their places
