You don’t think people can learn from their mistakes and be active in helping others?

Do as I say, not as I did is very much a mixed message. There are no doubt dozens, hundreds, thousands, millions of young ladies out there who made it through their teenaged years without getting pregnant. Wouldn't their advice on how they did it be a better message that, "I screwed up and look at me?"

The whole nation (heck the whole world) has seen and read in abundance what happened to Bristol. Girls taking notice of it, sure as heck don't got the impression that it's something to aspire to. Yes I think that those who made mistakes and are remorseful can speak more authoritatively than those who didn't.

Matthew 18:12-13

How think you? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, does he not leave the ninety and nine, and goes into the mountains, and seeks that which is gone astray?

And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray.

Sometimes people who have carried a particular burden bring extra credibility to the debate.  Bristol isn't talking to old fogies like you, but to those young teens who perhaps are in the fence when it comes to sexual liberation and aren't fully taking into consideration the consequences of their actions.  If Bristol can credibly communicate with them, more power to her.

Of course, but the new version of family values means you copulate, pretend you're going to get married at the convention, declare abstinence is "not realistic," change your mind, take $300,000 from People Magazine for the baby pictures, and then bask in your "conservative" mother's praise about what a great mother you are. You have to be breathing the fumes in the nail bar for a few months before you can fully understand this logic fully. If you raise an objection, you'll be called a sex addict by the bimbo-brigade.
