Republicans really need to start picking off those Senate seats in western red states such as North and South Dakota, Montana, and others here and there. And, Arkansas with two Dem. senators.

It’s really time to field great candidates and start winning the congressional seats in those red states.

Conservatives and Republicans in every state of this country, should donate to Toomey's campaign. Specter MUST be defeated.

Agreed. We united around the country to oust Daschle. We have to support Toomey.

I think you should use a bigger font than that. After all, your posts are more important than anyone else's.

I think he was just mad and it showed up in his post. After all the headline does showcase the stupidity of so called Republican "leaders" when they endorse some a**hat like Specter, especially just days before he switches parties.

I think that my congressman, Mark Kirk (R-IL), should switch parties. He’s pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, pro-spending increases, pro-illegal alien, and anti-Iraq surge. I emailed him, four times, and I asked why he’s a Republican. He didn’t answer me, so I emailed four of his aides and asked them why he’s a Republican. None of them responded.

I completely concur with those feelings.

Our party is an endless bad dream right now.

“I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans.” Arlen Specter

What an idiot! Specter, you don’t have a political philosophy. You have a socialist agenda, which is and always has been in line with the democrat party.

I knew when President Bush supported you that it was a hugh mistake and when I learned that my Senator John Cornyn was going to do the same I was sick!

You, Susan Collins, John McCain, Olympia Snow and Lindsey Graham are the reasons I would never contribute to the Republican National Committee. I would rather contribute directly to a candidate that I know is grounded in conservative principals! Perish the thought that my conribution would support any of you in any way!

The conservatives of this country should monetarily support and persue through the courts, the unconstitutional elements of our government, while we still have a court and we should make a massive month long march on Washington D.C., demanding a return to sanity and states rights. We should call out our states’ senators and representatives and demand they explain their socialist positions.

Voting is imperative, but it is becoming more difficult to overcome democratic voter fraud. Voter ID legislation in all states is essential.

It is my opinion that the circumstances we now face as a nation are urgent and business as usual will not get the job done. Once the masses start lining up at the “government teat”, our chances of reversing this socialist slide to tyranny will be all but impossible to reverse.

If I didn't know better, I would think that "our" government didn't represent us.

What are the odds that Specter will be a speaker (a la Zell Miller) at the Dem convention in 2012?

"My job as head of the NRSC is to guide the GOP back to a majority in the Senate," wrote Cornyn in a letter to Pennsylvania Republicans. "I can't do that without Arlen Specter. With him as our nominee, I can target our campaign resources toward beating Democrats and growing the Senate Republican Conference."

Actually, John, if you'd stop your mealy-mouthed equivocations and help purge the quislings from the party, the GOP just might have a shot at becoming a majority.

Does he have to give back all his Republican money?

The only contributions I can see in question would be those for his current campaign. And I'd hazard a guess that most of that came from contributors as comfortable with funding Democrats as Republicans.

Like no one saw this coming.

He is just blowing with the Democrat wind in PA, and he knew he would NOT get the support of the GOP there, in fact I think some Republicans switched parties just so they could vote against him.

I wouldn’t doubt it. He’ll be more than happy to screw his old party over once again.

My point is-——>A true conservative will not win again in PA for as long as the eye can see. Sad but true. Just facing the reality and avoiding living under delusion.

Rush was speculating that sphincter was so far behind his Republican challenger (something like 23 points) that he had to do the ultimate congresscritter thing and sell his soul to keep his seat.

"A true conservative will not win again in PA for as long as the eye can see. " I don't agree with your analysis. They can change back just as easy.

Wow. Doesn’t sound too good. Let us know if he ever lets you know which, if any, GOP principle(s) he DOES support. I am happy with our San Diego GOP congressmen — Issa, Bilbray and Hunter.
