Despite Reports, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Was Not Waterboarded 183 Times The number of times Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded was the focus of major media attention -- and highly misleading.

The New York Times reported last week that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, was waterboarded 183 times in one month by CIA interrogators. The "183 times" was widely circulated by news outlets throughout the world.

It was shocking. And it was highly misleading. The number is a vast inflation, according to information from a U.S. official and the testimony of the terrorists themselves.

A U.S. official with knowledge of the interrogation program told FOX News that the much-cited figure represents the number of times water was poured onto Mohammed's face -- not the number of times the CIA applied the simulated-drowning technique on the terror suspect. According to a 2007 Red Cross report, he was subjected a total of "five sessions of ill-treatment."

So he was waterboarded five (5) whole times, and the other 178 times somebody just tossed water upon his face.

Why all the HAND WRINGING when murderous, “enemy combatants”
are tortured and nary a word when innocent pre-born babies
suffer dismemberment torture 4,000 times each day at the
hands of the abortionists’ knives?

The al Qaeda mastermind, known as KSM, stubbornly held out for about two minutes — far longer than any of the other “high-value” terror targets who were subjected to the technique,...”It was an extraordinary amount of time for him to hold out,” one former CIA officer told ABCNews.com.

“Then he started talking, and he never stopped,” this former officer said. KSM was never water-boarded again, ...

Instead of worrying about how many times the mastermind of 9/11 got waterboarded, why don’t we focus on who is paying the bills for the ACLU? Seriously, the ACLU is doing everything in its power to embarrass the US. I would not be shocked at all if their ultimate source of funding was Al Qaeda or Iran or the Muslim Brotherhood. Us Americans...and especially the liberal ones among us (good people for the most part) are being played like absolute fools by the enemies of freedom. You guys on the left are the classic useful idiots.

If the worse thing done to some thugs is Water Boarding then what the hell are we all in a frenzy about? Men who choose careers in the area of mass murder, religous zealotry, sexism, and racism should expect to get treated poorly if captured by the forces of freedom. This is a military matter. Not a legal matter. Think People!!!

No. He was waterboarded 5 times and forced to take a shower the other 178 times.

I think that if Khalid was waterboarded 183 times he would get used to it and the technique would be ineffective.

I don’t think that was enough. Let’s bring him back, and on TV this time, to make sure we get our tax-dollar’s worth.
