BOAO Former President George W. Bush cracked jokes about how he scoops up after his dog on neighborhood walks and then turned to more serious subjects like terrorism and the financial crisis Saturday during his first overseas trip since leaving office.

I could think of almost any place in the world I’d like to visit but Communist China is not even in the top 100.
Oh no. Is he going to bash America\? /sarc. I could not resist sorry. If anyone doesn’t bash America, it will be President Bush.
So lovely to see the name Bush back on FR. Three cheers for GWB
Actually it is awesome! I went in 2004 and had a blast. That Great Wall of China is incredible. You should really reconsider and go visit Beijing at least. Politics aside, it is a great country. The food is outstanding.
A decent article.
I’m glad he said . . . what he did.
Glad to see him out. I sure miss him. And I hope he doesn’t simply disappear. He really deserves a statue for how he dealt with 9-11 and kept us safe.
God bless GWB!
The part about not criticizing Obama is wise as well as correct for an ex-president. Bush being welcomed abroad is in itself a rebuff to his critics.
I would love to eventually go tour China.
I am glad that Bush is retired and enjoying himself, but I sure miss our last real president, warts and all............ we were much better off.
A million Amen.
The Great Wall is just as great as standing on the top of WTC 1 on an October night when the Mets were playing Boston. I’ll never forget how calm and clear is was that night. Now, all that is left of the WTC is a hole in the ground. Where is the outrage of WE, THE PEOPLE that have spent TRILLIONS and STILL don’t have a proper monument. Cheese and rice people, don’t you wonder? Don’t you remember?
Yeah, and the statue should be torn down for leading this nation to Obama.
BTW, don't bother getting all uppity with me. It's no longer possible to rationally defend Bush vis-a-vis politics. If it wasn't for Bush and his policies Obama would NOT be in office today.
Oh yippee, GWB visits the ChiComs...
Yeah, a great place to visit, politics aside, poisoned food aside, numerous communicable diseases due to hygiene aside, nuclear weapons pointed at us aside, threatening our free allies in Taiwan aside, working people like slaves sleeping next to their machines aside, tremendous pollution floating across the Pacific aside, bullying American towns to not recognize the Falun Gong aside, executing political prisoners for their organs aside, etc., etc., etc.
But hey, they’re buying our debt, much of which was created by GWB’s spending* - so party on, George!!
(* Yes, of course, Obama’s creating much worse debt.)
Ping!
Is he going to tour the drywall plant over there ?
What am I missing with your “ping” to people that haven’t even posted?
I am pinging them to this thread because I know that they would be interested in hearing about President Bush and his trip.
You can go to your comments and see your pings. Do you understand?
True.
I just hope we find out when they escape to their new South American . . . bunker . . .
Much as Hoover led to FDR. In his first term he should have read the riot act to his fellow Pubs and wielded his veto pen like a sword. Or some such dramatic thing.
“uppity”?? Now that’s a good one!
