this has to be approved by the house and senate. even with all the Dhimmms they can and will not have enough votes to approve this if many of these Red State Democrats want to be re-elected.

this is reminiscent of the Clinton and the Kyoto accords that were never ratified by congress.

Everyone who is eligible should buy a gun and learn how to use it. Those who already own a gun should buy another one, and more ammunition. This will send a clear message to the Demo-Socialists, terrorists, and other crooks.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Treaties need be approved only by the Senate. I have been predicting since before this election that Obama would use the treaty making power of the United States to impose legislation and even circumvent the Bill of Rights without the bother of submitting to securing the consents of the House and the Senate.

Even worse, the president can enter into executive agreements with foreign entities which do have the force of law under some circumstances. The question is whether the court will permit our Constitution to be amended by the President and the Senate without reference to the amendment process. The case law in this area is not clear and as I understand it there is no case which permits individual constitutional rights to be abridged by a treaty. I for one, however, am not comfortable leaving the fate of my right to bear arms, for example, to the hopscotch unreliability of Justice Kennedy who will decide the issue.

When the media belittles yesterdays protesters as "tea baggers" who have misconstrued the meaning of the Boston tea party because today's protesters already have " representation" one might ask, how much representation do the tea party protesters really have if Obama succeeds in circumventing the Constitution with the artifice of the treaty making power?

Treaties only have to be approved by 2/3 of the senate.

To take effect, this treaty would have to be ratified by two-thirds of the Senate; the House would have no official role. How many Senate Republicans would vote for this Obamanation?

Yeah, but weren't the Republicans in charge of the Congress then? I think our only hope with the UN is the so called Blue Dog Democrats elected from very progun districts. Hopefully they'll stick together and vote as a block and even more hopefully, there won't be enough RINOs willing to backstab us and side with the LIBS to sell this country down that "UN Blue" river.

Treaties only need a filibusterer proof majority in the senate.

Thanks to Al Franken, that could happen. Scary.
