That still leaves the timing out of the plan. On the other hand if like good scouts they were lurking close by waiting for an opportunity that came and that they then took advantage of then you could say it was planned in a Shawnee sort of way. As any combat vet will tell you, all plans go out the window at first contact and training takes over.

I just heard one of the crew say that was the Captain’s plan all along ~ to jump off the lifeboat when/if the opportunity presented itself.

The point is, so what if it took five days? We got the ideal outcome

Taking us 5 days is a big deal for Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Iran, North Korea and host of other enemies even if we have achieved our goal at the end. They have been greatly emboldened by this and the perception will not change because they know now that Obama is the weakest President ever which will encourage them to do a lot of harm to us.

Good point........Hearing that the hostage dived out of the rigid raft again and the event occured. My guess was SEALS were with in arms length of the raft when all this occured.....just a guess of course.

Barbara Starr reporting that Capt. Phillips
was on the Bainbridge, then choppered to the
US ship Boxer and is not resting comfortably,
having had a medical checkup (he’s uninjured)
and spoken with his family.

Praise God and our awesome military!

"Bush did the same in Afghanistan"

Bush also let the Chinese hold our EP-3 spy plane and interrogate it's 24 crew members for 10 days before apologizing to the Chinese.

“The complete details of the rescue should not be revealed...”

That is correct, of course.
However, given the number of muslims and socialists in and around the government, it is most likely complete details will be quickly available to the bad guys - and the U.S. public will be the last to know.

Because I am hearing impaired I can read lips fairly good, very colorful language regarding Obamas ineptitude.

That is not how Al Qaeda, Taliban, Iran, and the North Koreans will view it and it is all about perception. Make no doubt about it, these enemies have been greatly emboldened and they are going to cause a lot of harm because of this perception of weakness.

I disagree. I was in favor of taking action sooner, but in this case the captain was rescued, the bad guys are dead (except for one we can get intel from), and we did it at a time of our choosing. The ones attacking us got nothing out of it.

Seems hard for somebody planning to attack us to see a good outcome if thats the results they can expect.

Hopefully MAERSK will employ a couple of mercenaries to be on board in these waters. Some good things could come from this.

Take LOTS of hostages, and never attack a boat unless you can HOLD the boat!”

Which means it is time to have armed men on the ships. Plus, I doubt any more American-flagged ships are gonna be pirated after this. Pirates aren't al Qaeda types seeking to be martyrs. They are criminals of opportunity who want to live to enjoy their ransom money.

Exactly. The Captain gave the Navy an opportunity and the Navy took advantage of it. The truth is that negotiations failed.

Yes he DID, he ordered a pizza, bought a dog, visited with friends in Georgetown last night and said nothing about pirates when asked by the media....It was all part of the plan to make pirates think he had no plan:)

Obama is the man and did a great job.

Obama did not do a great job. However, our military presented him with options and he had the brass and the brains to select the right option.

It shows us that Obama is no Jimmy Carter and that is a Victory for America.

Will Obama now apologize to the Muslims for the arrogant actions taken by our US Navy SEALS?

My speculation is that when he jumped they lit it up, either from helos circling nearby, or from the gatlings on the Bainbridge.
