Bachmann warns gov't creating 're-education camps' @ 1:04 pm by Michael O'Brien

The government is at risk of creating "re-education camps for young people," Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

"I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service," Bachmann said on a Minnesota radio show Monday. "And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums."

Bachmann was talking about the Serve America Act, passed recently in Congress as a way to encourage community service for young Americans.

"It’s under the guise of — quote — volunteerism," she said. "But it’s not volunteers at all. It’s paying people to do work on behalf of government."

Bachmann has been anything but quiet during this term in Congress, with her outspoken remarks often drawing the ire of liberal bloggers.

We know the FEMA camps exist. Maybe these camps are being built under a benevolent name.

I thought Public Schools were already re-education camps???

The Obama newspeak Dictionary:

Student Volunteer = Conscripted brainwashed Nation Security Force footsoldier

Man-Made Natural Disaster Coordinator = Islamic Terrorist

Government Bailout = Fascist Government Take-over

Bachmann and Palin have more guts than the entire male GOP in the House and Senate. There are a few Repubs men that are pretty good but Bachmann and Sarah are fireballs. God bless em.

I really like Bachmann - she is also a cutie like Sarah.

Didn’t the lib tinfoilers say Bush was going to do this?

I don’t recall so much abominable legislation during Bush’s time in office that would clearly indicate that as I have during Zero’s short reign of error.

Nothing hurts a lib like the truth, especially when it comes from the other side.

I had to go look up this Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn). She's attractive and conservative. Obviously the loony left has taken notice and are already photoshopping this "evil" person who is out to destroy their welfare ride.

Michele Bachmann

The loony left's handy work...

Michelle is the real deal. I was fortunate to spend a few hours in her company at a 4th of July parade in 2006. She is destined for a bigger role in the conservative movement. She’s earned her ‘chops.’

Oh, I dunno - to the truth add scorn and derisive laughter and most libs would have a stroke.

Hey Wobbly!

She’s ‘almost’ my Congresscritter. I can’t complain much about John Kline, though. He’s a solid guy. Gotta love Michelle’s chutzpah though!

Here ya’ go:

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already... What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’”
- Adolph Hitler

Although you wouldn’t think so based on the November election. apparently Obamessiah thinks the government schools are taking too long.

Zero Brigade: DO they constitute?

1. Posse comatatus = Uniformed service, they will have uniforms wont they?
2. 13th Amendment = Involutary servitude, me working for ACORN.

1. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (today the Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain “law and order” on non-federal property (states and their counties and municipal divisions) within the United States.

2. The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution makes involuntary servitude illegal under any U.S. jurisdiction whether at the hands of the U.S. government or in the private sphere, except as punishment for a crime: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

The Libertarian Party of the United States and other libertarians consider military conscription to be involuntary servitude in the sense of the Thirteenth Amendment. Some libertarians consider compulsory schooling and income taxation forms of involuntary servitude.[1][unreliable source?][not in citation given]

Part of this legislation may be a response to homeschooling. And, since we are on the subject, any word on whether or not parents will be welcome at these camps?
