Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'

Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told' The uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story, writes Christopher Booker.

If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe.

How can it be a lie if Al Gore recieved the Nobel Prize for saying it over and over and over again? Is the concept of global warming just a hoax perpetrated by a malevolent power elite hellbent on world government?

The answer is a succinct “of course”.

Yep. Have you noticed that the inverse relationship between pressure and volume also applies to politics: the higher the pressure is to act, the lower the volume of facts behind it.

And Al Gore was telling everybody they would raise 20 feet in the next 100 years. Even the worst case grossly biased computer models only showed about 20". But hey, overstating you case by over 1000% is close enough for a Nobel Prize.

You knew this was crap when you started reading articles citing the "rising sea level" in Venice, Italy as evidence of a "global warming" problem.

Anyone with an IQ over 40 would realize that rising sea levels would be observed around the entire globe. You can dump as much water as you'd like into the north end of your swimming pool, and there's no way in hell the water level would only rise in that one spot.

There's a number of great replies to that article, but there are some deluded ones as well...

Daniel, I have no opinion whether Professor Morner is right or wrong. That is not the issue. The issue is the article is so biased in favour of the professor that all journalistic objectivity is entirely lost. The writer does not question the professor's findings or how they were interpreted and does not mention which journals the research was published in or any feedback from others working in the same field. It also implies that others working in the field are involved in some sort of conspiracy to lie to the public for money without evidence to back it up.

Basically the article should have been about UFOs or crop circles and not presented as a serious outlet for scientific findings.

But, but, you swallow, without question, the findings of modelers who have no standing, no verification, and enjoy the unique ability to insert articles into peer review journals without any review, vs. Morner who has been extensively reviewed, who has solid real world data, and whom the climate hacks simply ignore as challenging him on a scientific basis when they themselves have no standing gets them laughed at. But hey, his former chairmanship of the UN's sea level change committee should give him all the credit needed, as after all, they vet the best for these positions, right? Well, they did, now they just put in the worst hacks possible, just so long as the party line is towed along and constant reports are made about how we're all going to die...

Because the end desire is to end economic dominance by 'first world' countries, and make us all third world citizens, as that'd make it so much easier to rule us all.

Oh, and, well, ironic that the replier mentioned crop circles - least that, while a hoax, exists in the real world, unlike the doomsday climate models which are just phantoms and have yet to perform the most basic task of being able to model past climate behavior.

One clue to this supposed flooding from rising ocean levels can be ascertained from the Medieval Warm Period (MWP), during which time the Vikings settled other northern areas (like Greenland and north of Newfoundland). There was significant warming and yet — Holland did not flood during that time (and it’s one of the areas in the world that would be highly affected by rising sea levels).

We have the historical record from that time which pretty much proves the lack of rising sea levels from a significant warming period from the past.

Just goes to show you what a "Nobel prize" is worth these days.

It also goes to show you how stupid and gullible people and governments are.

"We have the historical record from that time which pretty much proves the lack of rising sea levels from a significant warming period from the past."

Actually, during that warming period, sea levels were actually lower.

Sea levels actually appear to rise, and do somewhat when we have increased ice mass on land masses like Greenland and north America during the last ice age. This is because the weight of the ice presses the land mass down into the mantle, which is soft, and causing bulging under the sea's.
