New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

In the first place, you are fabricating a lot of things. Mormon missionaries don't go around calling people apostates. In your post you even admit that you have to force them to read something to bring that out. And to top it off, you force things into the statement that aren't there.

Secondly, there isn't a Christian Church now or in the past that hasn't called some other church apostate. If you don't know that, you don't read much church history. In fact, if you are not Catholic, you are “apostate.” There is no reason to get so out of joint about that.

Thirdly, I am rather certain I can post some creeds that you will disagree with, since they are all over the map.
One of the worst things historically about the “creeds” is the attitude in which they were presented. In Joseph Smith's day one could be driven out of the church if you did not agree in detail with the creeds of a particular church. Read the history of Anne Hutchinson and Roger Williams. Wars were fought over creeds. I call this exclusionary attitude a corruption in itself. And those who push the creeds in that way (the professors), I have no reservation in calling them corrupt. That is not the Spirit of Christ. It was the same spirit that drove the Mormons from their homes in New York, Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois.

You have to know a secret handshake to gain admittance.

And the entrance fee is 10% of your income.....

I can’t find anything at all about the website now.

Is it possible to go that underground that it doesn’t even come up on google searches?

***Those of us who walk that path strive to do the right things no matter how much sometimes others are so nasty and ruthless!****

Now don’t go feeling like the LONE RANGER! There have been other restorationist church members post on FR claiming they are the ONLY true church and if we didn’t dot the I and cross the t their way we were lost!

We had great fun with them but I haven’t seen any of them around for about a year.

***I’ll bet that a heck of a lot more than 700 people complained about cold coffee after McDonald’s (and others) overreacted to this famous frivolous case.****

They should only sell cold coffee with a little packet of DAVE’S INSANITY SAUCE! That will really warm them up! Twice!

Isn’t it funny that most of your “anti-mormon” threads you listed are posted from LDS sites.

I appreciate that our anti-Mormon FReepers are now posting mostly current LDS articles to "discuss". It's definitely an improvement!

I agree, and it was frustrating because it became impossible to discuss it.

““Holier than thou” is a built-in factor in all religion. It’s like putting Betta fish together. Eventually, it will go sour.”

The common denominator in all religions, including atheist, are humans. (which is the cause of the problems.)
It is SAD that God isn’t.

Interesting about Betta Fish, I have a 55 gallon Tank with two female Betta living happily together. (Maybe it is because of their gender. ;) )

>> My mother remarried about 2 years after my father passed away and is still living and still married, combined total of the two marriages - 72 years.

My hat’s off to your Mom.

I had a great aunt and uncle (long since passed) who made it to their 65th anniversary. I congratulated him and he said “Son, I wanna tell you that’s a LONG time to put up with the same woman!” He was just kdding; my great aunt was the sweetest human being I have ever known.

We have 2 or 3 couples at church that have cleared 60 years of marriage. There’s something comforting and inspirational about that.

So you think it is Harry Reid’s fault he is corrupt? If not, why bring up his religion. How do you feel when someone says that Christians have done more killing than any other group of people in this world? That is what the leftist say you know.
