A fairly impressive internet industry has sprung up claiming that Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia. This is nonsense which distracts from the broadly unexplored story of Obamas upbringing. This kind of nonsense has emerged because the McCain campaign chose not to raise the many questions about Barack Obamas numerous hard-left alliances. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961 at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu.

I know you are supporting the efforts of those who have filed court cases and have written to your local papers and the white house imploring Obama to stop the guilty behavior and show that all of us conspiracy theorists are just so many idiots.
Well, the article makes a statement that: “This is Obamas Gramscian strategy designed to redirect the opposition down a blind alley. “, i.e, Andrew Walden is saying that you are the gullible one.
One thing is for sure, you and I can’t both be right about this. I agree with Walden that this is a waste of time and energy. If Obama ever produces the original certificate, or if Obama makes it through rest of his 4 years (or 8, heaven forbid) without being kicked out of office for failure to be a natural born citizen, you will have been the gullible fool led down the blind alley.
The computer-generated COLB has been proven to be a fraud by FReeper Polarik and others. Polarik, a PhD professional in computer science, did a lengthy paper analyzing the COLB which was posted on the 'Net. In fact, one of Obama's supporters admitted that he perpetrated that very fraud.
Assuming (arguendo) that the birth announcements in the Hawaiian papers are real, they do not state the place of birth. As we have gone over many times here, it was possible, under the applicable HI statutes at the time, to register a foreign birth with the HI Health Dept., from which the birth announcement was supposedly derived.
The statements from Hawaii officials that the birth certificate exists do not specify the place of birth. As already indicated, it was possible to register a foreign birth with the HI Health Dept. in 1961, which could have generated that Hawaii birth certificate.
Total lack of evidence he was born in Kenya? There's way more substantial evidence suggesting he was born in Kenya than evidence demonstrating he was born in Hawaii.
LJ, if you read my last reply, I didn't say it was "without doubt." I said it was likely, based on my own experience, and you're certainly entitled to your own opinion, based on your experience.
The problem is, that while the announcement doesn't prove, without a doubt, that Obama was born in Hawaii, there's no proof that he was born elsewhere.
I don't think anyone can accuse me of being an Obama supporter -- his policies are anathema to everything I believe in, and I think his life story -- which he used to campaign on, lacking any meaningful experience for the job -- is full of holes and deliberate obfuscation.
On the other hand, though, as someone who's always believed that facts are essential to truth, and truth has to be maintained above all else (lest we sink to the level of what we oppose), I really have a problem with people making statements -- as fact -- for which no one has presented any actual proof, and then insulting people who have a different opinion. (And I'm not referring to you).
Parents cannot renounce U.S. citizenship on behalf of their minor children. Before an oath of renunciation will be administered under Section 349(a)(5) of the INA, a person under the age of eighteen must convince a U.S. diplomatic or consular officer that he/she fully understands the nature and consequences of the oath of renunciation, is not subject to duress or undue influence, and is voluntarily seeking to renounce his/her U.S. citizenship.
obama was a british citizen until I think it was 1982 and he placed that on his campaign website. How old was obama in 1982?
Or was obama's mother able to put her son in school in Indonensia by allowing Lolo to adopt him under his delayed birth certificate filed in the U.S.? Nothing was computerized then. Two different citizenships could allow for many possibilities.
Let’s say that you’re Stanley Dunham, a middle-aged man living in Hawaii in 1961, and your only daughter marries the already married Kenyan man that impregnated her. She then travels to Kenya with him, and although she tries to return because his family did not treat her well (because they do not approve of his marriage to a white girl), the airline won’t let her fly back to Hawaii because she’s too far along in the pregnancy to fly. (The preceding sentence is based on the accounts of Obama’s relatives in Kenya.) So little Barack is born in Kenya, as recounted by his Kenyan step-grandmother (the one that he put in front of the cameras and called “Granny”).
Your’re back in Hawaii, and your daughter calls you long-distance and tells you the date of the baby’s birth. You’re not an immigration lawyer, but you fear that, because your daughter’s husband is not an American, that her baby won’t be a U.S. citizen if the government finds out that he wasn’t born in the U.S. (and, given that your daughter was only 18, and thus had not lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years after she turned 14, you would be have been right so to fear). so, what do you do? You call the newspaper and report the birth of Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. in Honolulu. And when your daughter returns to Hawaii, you tell her to go down to the baby registry and register young Barack as having been born in Honolulu. It’s not that you are arrogant enough to believe that your grandson has a good chance of some day becoming president if only he could be a natural-born citizen, it’s that if the government finds out that your grandson was born abroad he won’t be a U.S. citizen at all (unless he takes a citizenship test at 18). So you protect your grandchild from the damage done by his irresponsible parents and concoct the story that he was born in Honolulu.
Now, that does not sound to me as at all far-fetched, and it certainly isn’t the case of a conspiracy theory for the election of Obama as president that began in 1961. It’s a perfectly reasonable story, and one that is a true one if we believe Obama’s Kenyan step-grandmother. Now, if this is true, the question is, when did Obama find out that he was born in Kenya? Because that is when the conspiracy actually began.
Maybe, Chief Engineer has an alternate theory that fits better with most know facts. Namely that BHO was born in a home for unwed mothers, in Canada, even though his mother was married. The reason? The late Grandma Toot did not want her to be "punished" with a black baby, and so sent her away, as was common at the time for unwed mothers, to have the baby and have him given up for adoption. The reason Canada would have been chosen was that a half white half African baby would have a better chance there than in the US. But then S. Ann reneged on the deal with her mother.
The evidence? Stanley Ann and little Barack's appearance in Seattle as testified to by a friend of Stanley's (the family had lived there up until not long before) as to a visit when BH was still "All pink" and when his mother did not yet know how to change his diapers.
Then it would just have been a matter of filing the BC for an out of state birth to a Hawaiian resident, and bingo, he's got a Hawaiian BC, but it shows his birthplace as Vancouver or some other Canadian location nearby, it might or might not show the same date of birth as the posted Certification of Live Birth image.
But regardless of the details, BHO is hiding something, most likely something that would make him "officially" not eligible to the Office of President of the United States.
Somehow, I must have breezed right over the documentation cites this article relies on 100% to prove its assertions.
They’re called embedded links. Go back and use your mouse to click on a few.
The irony of all of this...what choice would his mother have made if all the abortion laws that Obama supports were in place back then?
I came of age in the Clinton era, and I am ashamed to say that I bought into a fair number of the baser conspiracy theories out there about X42 and his administration. It was quite the growth experience for me to then live through the Bush II administration and watch the pendulum swing the other way.
It has made for what I hope is a more sober outlook on what we now are facing. Maybe. Time will tell.
I like to think that I now have a better grasp of how to oppose a Presidential administration without buying into the hyperbole or latching on to emotionally satisfying but logically unsupported ideas.
That's how I have come to see this whole birth certificate flap. It seems emotionally satisfying in the same way that a person can take comfort in the idea that they should not have to take up a fight. There will always be those who take sanctuary there and think that if only this one thing could be true, the problem set would change to their advantage.
But that is just how it looks to me today.
Should be interesting to see how this pans out.
When Obama was born, he had dual citizenship with Britain, but in 1963 that changed to Kenyan dual citizenship upon that countries independence.
From the Kenya constitution:
A person who, upon the attainment of the age of twenty-one years, is a citizen of Kenya and also a citizen of some country other than Kenya shall, subject to subsection (7), cease to be a citizen of Kenya upon the specified date unless he has renounced his citizenship of that other country, taken the oath of allegiance and, in the case of a person who was born outside Kenya. made and registered such declaration of his intentions concerning residence as may be prescribed by or under an Act of Parliament.
How old was obama in 1982?
21. And since he didn't renounce his US citizenship, his Kenyan citizenship status was revoked at that time, in accordance with the Kenyan constitution. What does that have to do with his parents inability to renounce his US citizenship when he was under 18?
And yet there is no proof what so ever that the “married” couple ever lived together! Not one of Obama Sr’s friends ever mentioned seeing the couple together, with the exception of avowed Jr supporter Neil Abercrombie, and not one of them ever saw Ann at Obama Sr’s home at 625 11th Ave. Ann is not pictured in any photos of Obama Sr at any events during that time period either! Ann was in WA state before the couple had been married for 7 months. Was the wedding a shotgun wedding for the benefit of his name only? No one really knows, not even Jr himself as he has admitted. Jr hasn’t even been truthful to himself let alone anyone else. Even Michelle admitted that “Ann was a very young, very single mother” when she spoke with journalists last summer and this was widely reported.
Or did Lolo just go down to the local public school and fill out the form with the information that would get his kid into school.
Again, none of this changes the explicit US law that nothing his parents did could renounce his US citizenship on his behalf. And you're also getting into a position that foreign law trumps US laws as to who is or isn't a US citizen.
Two different citizenships could allow for many possibilities.
Aren't you up to three, now? Keep going. Maybe you should start a rumor that he got Pakistani citizenship when he visited there.
So what? What birther theory does that advance? Did anyone see her living with Malcolm X or Frank Marshall?
Was the wedding a shotgun wedding for the benefit of his name only?
Quite possibly, since based on his birth date she would have conceived in early November.
I have never advocated that anyone other than Obama Sr was the father and that Jr was conceived during a celebration of the election of JFK as President. Maybe you had better read some of my postings before you jump in and say such things! I have done a great deal of research to discover the many inaccuracies in the “official story” as put forth by both Jr AND the presstitutes including the fact that the address in the birth announcement was owned by Orland and Thelma Lefforge, it was never lived in by the Dunhams or Obama Sr. When Andrew Walden originally posted this story at FR back in November I pointed out the inconsistencies, speculation and innuendo happily published by “The Honolulu Advertiser” in their housing article for Jr and Andrew still can’t respond to those problems. In their article “The Advertiser” even ignores the now known fact that Ann and Jr didn’t even live in HI from August, 1961 until sometime in late 1962. Journalism isn’t living up to the standards of the past and Andrew is happy to go along to get along instead of trying to find out the truth. He could easily contact UH at Manoa and ask them when Orland Lefforge returned to teach there since he lives on Big Island and since UH couldn’t be bothered to return my emails(After all Lefforge passed away in 2007 and that isn’t privileged information) but that must be too hard of a task for Andrew to perform, after all he did see the birth announcement with his own eyes. Sarcasm fully intended!
FYI, it was a private school.
Yah - the reporter wouldn’t want to LEARN something, or is it the READ part of your standard retort you have trouble with?
Is it really so clear that a mixed-race child would have had an easier time in Canada than Hawaii? After all, the reason that Hawaii achieved statehood after Alaska is purportedly because Southern senators were opposed to admitting a state with so many mixed-race people.
If Vancouver, which is something like 10 miles from the US border, was such an island of tolerance at this time, I haven't heard about it.
But no doubt there were some difficult moments in the Dunham family.
But regardless of the details, BHO is hiding something, most likely something that would make him "officially" not eligible to the Office of President of the United States.
There is also the possibility that it is merely something embarrassing to himself and/or his mother.
Did it occur to any of you gentlemen that Seattle isn't in Canada?
" I Barak Obummer promise to uphold nothing because I'm confused and will do anything that Nancy Pelosi tells me to do, Allah Akbar."
