husband’s plan for all military related injuries to be handled by their private insurance.

Every insurance policy form for reimbursement that I ever saw asked if the injury or illness being treated was work related.

Private insurance will not pay for the treatment of work related injuries or illnesses. They expect workman's compensation or the VA to pick up those bills and their rates to their clientel are based on that.

If a doctor or patient fails to disclose that an injury is work related they are committing fraud which invalidates the whole policy, and gets the doctor into a great deal of hot water.

President Obama sounds incredibly stupid and naive to me when he blithely assumes he can rack in over 500 million dollars from private insurance companies picking up his tab for treating our vets with dignity.

Good point. I wouldn't put it past these thugs to muscle their way around it, though. (This administration is like a very bad dream. Our country is being weakened on so many fronts.)
