Adorned with bowie knives, pistols and peaceful exasperation...Freedom activists swarm the New Hampshire legislature demanding passage of a warning to Washington. This bill would declare the union nullified if the central government commits certain abuses.

This is wonderful. Liberals are never going to stop their relentless attacks on our liberty unless we become militant about protecting them. These are yankees this Texan admires.

The FIRST revolution started in New Hampshire... no reason for the SECOND not to begin there, either.!!

???

It started in North Carolina.

Great news ping back!

If I remember 5th grade history correctly, 1/3 of the colonists dragged the other 2/3 to liberty.

As it was then, we can do again.

"Further" limitations on political speech? "Further" infringements on the right to bear arms? No mention of the current limitations and infringements.

Surrendering power to "Corporations" is listed but no mention of our own federal government.

The Civil War was a nasty, vicious, ugly war (what war isn’t?). I’m sure there were countless abuses on both sides of it on the part of some of the soldiers. Whenever you have a large group of society gathered in less than optimal conditions you will have among them all manner of disrespectful “uncivilized” men as well (Heck, there will be a smattering of truly evil men in there on both sides as well). Nothing one can do about that - it’s the nature of man, and the nature of war itself, really.

It’s still a shame though — in a perfect world none of it would be necessary, but alas, this world is far from perfect...

They should definitely consider altering the bill if they want to submit it again for another vote — perhaps after the next election provided they now work together to throw those who voted against passing it out of office! Heck, one could consider impeachment movements against those members who have other questionable dealings right away... No use wasting time! LOL

Lexington and Concord are what was taught to me as accepted as the start of the Revolutionary War.

That article you provided looks more like a bar brawl that got out of hand.

did you learn about the CIVIL WAR ... or the WAR of NORTHERN AGRESSION??

Any bill that backs the 10th Amendment is a good thing. That said, the bill appears to have been written back during the Bush administration by people who didn't wanted to be drafted and by people who didn't like the Patriot Act.

I briefly considered joining that group when I was part of the LP (before the Iraq War). Couldn’t even really consider it at the time economics wise though. I did think it would be a great idea if they could manage it. If people get over some of the more quirky libertarians (who really all just want to be left the heck alone as long as they aren’t hurting anyone else) most of their policies are VERY Conservative - especially the economics policies of which we are desperately in need of educating the American Public about.

The only thing that I didn’t like about the LP, and the Libertarians who I knew was that after the Iraq War started there was a movement afoot that I saw where a lot of the more leftist elements pushed to work WITH the LP where they agreed on social issues (like Medical Marijuana & Drug War Reforms), however as a result some of their OTHER liberal ideas gained a foothold, too. I found among the friends of mine that stayed with the LP - they became more and more liberal and exhibited signs of BDS to such a degree that I became more uncomfortable being around them, than even REPUBLICANS! (GASP! LOL) A lot of my friends I used to work with in the party have left as well, so I know this isn’t just something I experienced, or noticed.

I think the LP was focused so much on the party not becoming ‘RINOish’ where it’s economic policies and view of the Federal Government were concerned that they left the door open for the liberals to infiltrate through the social issues initiatives. It’s a shame, really...

Of course, all of this is JMHO. If they can make strides in New Hampshire and sow the seeds, or light the flames of liberty in our country again I will be more than grateful for their help, that’s for sure! Most of the Libertarians I knew were VERY supportive of the Constitution (and actually KNEW what it said!), and overall were “good people”.

I agree with you that what they submitted is in no way a bad thing! I also agree that it was most likely written a while ago and for the reasons you stated as well.

Honestly, I’m not personally all that crazy about some of the provisions within the Patriot Act myself, really, but I’m not sure I fall exactly on one side or the other as far as being completely for or against it — I can see and agree with parts of both arguments for and against it. One thing I do know is that our country is at risk, and is in danger and supporting our military and taking the fight to these terrorists, I believe, was the exact right thing to do, and is the thing I’m most concerned about when it comes to the actions Obama has taken.

And, actions like introducing these resolutions are definitely necessary right now. Obama needs to be reminded that the Presidency (and all Federal Offices) come with shackles courtesy of the Constitution and the people. He also would be wise to remember that those Constitutional shackles can turn into real handcuffs by his own actions if he’s not careful.

The very cynical and suspicious part of me wonders if these weren’t paid liberal actors, doing Obama’s bidding for him. Why? Because it gets him that much closer to using the riot gear purchased for US troops on US soil, repealing of the 2nd amendment, and the re-education camps. That’s what he ultimately wants. Why not help the process along and make ‘patriots’ out to be the bad guys?
