Barack Obama took a break from battling the recession Thursday ... to meet Brad Pitt.
The "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star managed to nab a quick hello from the new president after meeting with Obama's energy czar at the White House, sources tell the Daily News.
Seems there are no hard feelings between the two after Obama's advisers turned down Pitt's offer to help with his presidential campaign in 2007.
At the time, Obama insiders said they felt Pitt was "a great guy," but they didn't want their candidate to appear to be "too Hollywood."
Water under the bridge, eh, Brad?
Pitt lobbied his way through 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. - and most of D.C. - with Elizabeth Hurley's billionaire baby daddy Stephen Bing, former Bill Clinton staffer Chad Griffin and philanthropist (and occasional Angelina Jolie mouthpiece) Trevor Nielson, a D.C. insider tells Gatecrasher.
The crew met with various D.C. big wigs - including Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid - to talk about New Orleans' Make It Right foundation and green building - two of Pitt's pet projects.
Pitt's partner Angelina Jolie, meanwhile, filmed scenes for her upcoming thriller "Salt" in the nation's capital.

WTH for? Is Pitt writing energy policy now?
How ridiculous can this administration get?
Leonardo DeCaprio left his ABC News environmental reporter gig and made Craz already?
Man this Obama is one DAMN cool dude...
Oh Prey God these Hollywood Socialist don’t cause trouble for Louisiana and it’s recovery. Pitt and Jolie think that since they live in N.O. and are “High Film Trash”, with money, that they can remold New Orleans into another liberal satalite of Hollywood! I hope Jindal sees through this and cap and trades there asses before they mess up the rest of Louisiana’s recovery.
Brad’s concerned about his charitable contributions no longer being deductible.
Too busy to have a press conference with the leader of the British empire...but not too busy for Hollywood.
What a F*%#!^g J^&0#f!!
Jefferson,Adams,Madison,Franklin and Washington to Teleprompter jesus and Brad Pitt. The American Devolution.
Go figure.
Did Obama bring his teleprompter
Did he get a toy Marine One helicopter?
You know, between the Wednesday night parties & taking a effin’ break to hob nob with celebutards, Obama probably thinks he’s stylin’.
He’s got a pimped out crib & wheels, entourage...he’s livin large.
He’s like “Barry Puffy O”. All he needs is some grills.
He rams through unprecedented spending that wasn’t even read before being enacted, the market is trashed and people are losing everything, he’s serving $100/lb steak at WH parties, his wife uses AF One to fly to Chicago for dinner, he lies and says that there is a health care caused bankruptcy every 30 seconds et cetera et cetera et cetera...and his approval ratings are UP!
This country needs to be divided....... we who actually have a clue need to be cut lose from the idiots.
Pitt is about equal to Soetoro in I.Q. and Patriotism and What is Good for AMERICA= ZERO
The city of New Orleans is very appreciative of the help that Pitt and company have contributed to our rebuilding and we don't consider them, nor do they act like, 'High Film Trash'.
The work that is going on is in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans, one of the poorest and one of the hardest hit by Katrina. It's doubtful that it will ever be mistaken for anything remotely related to Hollywood.

for three years NOLA has been paying unemployed NOLA’s to sit in hotel rooms across the nation.
There is no reason why ANY trash from a hurricane that happened in 2005 is left in the city. County. Or state.
Other than NOLA’s who didn’t pick up the 9th ward.
(Ask how much trash is left in Alabama. Texas.)
I guess it’s about time for the empty suit to take his, what is it the third or fourth, vaction since becoming the figurehead phoney POTUS.
