I work with kids, and was a kid, for that matter. You may have always had nothing but pure thoughts about your father, but you'd be a rare exception.
It doesn't make sense, it's about emotionalism--which is my point in comparing them to liberals.
It’s not that I always had pure, positive thoughts about my father but the whole idea of talking down another family member to those outside the family is wrong, and counterproductive, for lots of reasons.
First of all, it reflects poorly on the person talking. It says, “I come from a bad family or a bad father.” The speaker thinks it elevates him but in fact the negativism rubs off on him.
It’s like Obama - always talking down our country. The negativism is rubbing off on him - finally.
