The bible tells you that this shroud is a fake
John 20:6
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself

Benedict XVIs announcement will allow millions of people to see the linen cloth that according to tradition was wrapped around the body of Jesus after his death, showing that mysterious Face, which silently speaks to the hearts of men, inviting them to see in it the face of God.The comments about the Shroud of Turin are varied, interesting, and informative about the writers. I, for one, have been in awe about the image, its history, its scientific studies, and the range of conclusions about its authenticity. What one makes of all the studies depends upon his or her preconceived beliefs on its relevance and on their ability to take in and digest all the studies and scientific theories about the Shroud. And whether your faith depends upon its authenticity. I find it all absolutely fascinating, with due reverence to the possibility that it is really a window for us to see the past and the future, and get a glimpse of our very own soul.

Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you.”
He answered:
“A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here. . .”

Once when I was looking at a picture of the face of Jesus on the shroud I was intent on trying to discern what The LORD actually looked like and told The LORD in my heart that I really wanted to see what Jesus looked like. In an instant I was given a vision. I was shown The Face of Jesus in all of His glory. Pure love was flowing from his face as streaming light.
I absolutely know that it was The LORD God who gave me this vision. I was working as a maid making up the bed of a young Muslim man I was working for. I took a moment to pick up the book on his bed, that I had given him, and look at the picture. The very last thing I expected was a magnificent vision of our LORD’s face shining with the light of love.
It is the glorious face of Christ who resides in heaven that we must seek. It is His living, absolutely beautiful face that deserves our true and deepest devotion.
2Cr 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
