I was listening to this in my car and I had to pull over to keep from running over someone. I think it is ironic where he held this “campaign speech”. The main industry in that town is the manufacturing of RV’s. The people who buy RV’s are same people BO tax increases are going to hurt! I don't think I have ever seen a low income worker sporting around on vacation in an RV.... Also, the high cost of fuel is not helping this industry. Why can't these factory workers understand tax cuts and drilling for oil here is the best way for them to keep their industry thriving....

I am afraid the one thing we "may not be able to reverse" is the election of this guy.

He is in way over his head and I think he may actually realize it. When you use this type of hyperbole within the first month of your election, you have nowhere else to go.

Obama chose Elkhart, Ind for the first stop on his socialist democrat pork stimulus road trip because of their jump in unemployment. The unemployment stems from the loss of jobs in the RV industry. The makers of travel trailers, motor coaches and camping equipment and all of the local businesses that cater or supply the companies in Elkhart have been brought down by high fuel costs. We pull our RV with a pickup that gets maybe 10 gal per mile and when gas went up to over four dollars we camped close to home. People with those huge, beautiful, expensive, motor homes have the same concern. It was to be expected that fuel costs would be a major consideration when considering purchasing an RV. Now we have an administration determined to close off oil drilling, refuses to build nuclear power plants, and deliberately increases the cost of fuel with taxes and regulations that make RVing prohibitive. Obama is a committed socialist and his whole team of Clinton retreads agree with him and there is no way the situation will improve for Elkhart. Those citizens had best be looking for a new type of employment.

Man you have that right. I had a very good business for 10 years in Elkhart County providing advertising photography the RV business. My business is gone.

Obie said in a round about way that the RV business is dead and buried and all that is left is to “retool”.

His plans are for the elimination of gasoline, pickup trucks and SUV’s... all needed to make the RV business survive. None of those asking questions had a clue....

Maybe I don’t understand the definition of an earmark.

Perhaps it must be a piece of pork put in at the last minute so that no one gets to see it before the bill is passed. Perhaps secrecy is be a requirement.

It's not what the general public thinks of as an earmark. Most of us thought it meant a piece of spending for some specific project, like a certain building, put in by a congressman or senator. Definitions always change when a Dem uses them anyway. The DBM doesn't call them on it, but just goes right along.
