True for most of the world's air forces - nobody does aircraft maintenance like Americans, except maybe the Germans (and Japanese - boy are they picky, picky, picky).

All things being approximately equal, it is not the aircraft that win the battle, its the pilots. Since these aircraft are approximately equal, it won’t make much of a difference which one they choose (unless they can get F-22s or F-35s...).
They need to update the IAF’s aircraft to keep up with the PLAAF and the Pakis quantitatively and qualitatively, but really, they need to spend more on fuel and training time for the pilots. That is where the real payoff would be.
