He got into elite colleges because of Affirmative Action- not because he had the grades and brains. That's why his college records are sealed.

I thought it was because he registered as a foreign student, and he got student aid based on it...

He ‘Won,’ only because the non-taxpayer sector (subsidy recipients, including public union members) supported him.

The 46% who PAY the taxes and voted against him, get looted.

So much for going beyond partisanship ...to “inclusiveness.”

So much for respecting basic human liberties, esp. the fundamental economic right to keep what YOU earn (make, with your own time & hard work) without fear of violence or theft, including from the govt (special interests using govt apparatus to rob others)...

That was John Lott, an economist who was teaching at U Chicago, at the time. Lott is also the author or “More Guns, Less Crime.” He has worked for the federal Sentencing Commission, and a well known economist with a strong research and publishing record.

There may be big things that unify RINOs and Dems and unify Republicrats and Dems, but there are NO things, big or small, that unify true Republicans and Democrats. Not one single thing I can think of.

Treason?

Pew Research Center 07/30/2006

Chart: http://people-press.org/reports/images/282-56.gif

“...the most informed audiences belong to the political magazines, Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, the O’Reilly Factor, news magazines, and online news sources. ...

Audiences with the highest educational achievement, by far, are the literary magazines and online news outlets. Readers of news magazines, political magazines and business magazines, listeners of Rush Limbaugh and NPR, and viewers of the Daily Show, and C-SPAN also are much more likely than the average person to have a college degree. ..

The hard news audience is better educated and older than the average, though even among people with four year college degrees, fewer than a majority (39%) fall into this category. More men than women (32% vs. 22%) are hard news enthusiasts. There is no significant racial difference on this measure.”

We have a good list going — the Red Sox and Treason. I guess I also could have thrown in Corruption and Nanny-Statism.

This feather-weight will use Rush & others, as an excuse for his failings, for the next 4 years. It’s already begun.

Socialism and central planning are bad for societies & economies.

Free markets and open competition forces improvements, new technologies, and better products at a lower cost, even for the poorest in the community. Socialism means stagnation, rapidly declining standards, repression, loss of rights, and social /economic slavery — control of the public, by a select few, the bureaucracy’s Central Planners.

Rather than admit the mass of empirical and historical evidence we have demonstrates this reality, Bam bam will point to Rush, and cry that he’s “not helping.”

What a delusional, over-”reeducated” 2-year old.

All Marxists are adults with a 2 year old’s view of what societies are. ‘Your cookie is bigger than mine. I want your cookie.’

Even though they didn’t work to make the cookie, YOU did. They don’t want to make their own cookie, they want YOURS.

The same subset of people who jacked around in the back of the classroom all through school, disrupting skill-building and learning, acting the fools, now want what the subset of people who DID pay attention during school years, have.

Fair? NO.

“That’s not how it works,” to quote bambam.

The most moral thing you can do is work hard to provide for yourself, NOT take others’ things. Why the definition of ‘Justice’ has been reversed to mean the OPPOSITE - “if you don’t give me what YOU have, then YOU are unjust” - is beyond me.

The Dems have done a good job of turning the up & coming younger people in America in to 2-year olds as well. You’ve got to hand that to them. Immoral animals — it’s really a return to Hobbesian Anarchy, not a respect for private (personal) property rights and individual effort, any longer.... those days & principles are slipping away.

The economy’s slipping away into...economic chaos. A war of all against all, a looting fest.

:(

I worry for this country.

He said “His college records”

His teenager said “How he paid for college”

Together we said “His relationship to Bill Ayers”

Good thoughts on the long term consequences of socialism in your post.

These are points Tom Sowell and other economists make, often. There are long term consequences to a “little” government intervention. People’s behavior changes, and incentives are destroyed. This destroys skilled effort in the economy.

In France, they mandated that no one could be fired (unemployed). What happened — businesses REFUSED to hire people, because they could not fire them as demand for goods varied due to normal trends and seasonal changes for goods and services.

Result: They ONLY hired, if absolutely certain the demand would be there over time. In urban areas, they now have 50% unemployment rates. That’s why you see all the youth unrest, car burnings, etc., in French cities.

In the U.S., we don’t “mandate” employment security, yet our unemployment rates stay lower than France. That is because firms aren’t afraid to hire (for fear they can’t lay off as-needed) and resources (labor) is rapidly allocated here & there, to the highest uses, according to.. Consumers.

Bottom line: You can’t have a “little” socialism... you have to go ALL the way, Comrade.

In France, you can’t mandate job stability, alone. - You next have to Nationalize all private businesses, and force (now state-run) businesses to hire people, and keep those employees.

Good-bye free trade, competition, choice...and a growing dynamic system (driven, and controlled, by freely deciding ‘voting’ CONSUMERS, private individuals who are not the slaves of particular big businesses, labor unions or others protected by Govt. from the forces of freedom - free trade!)

I don’t have time to read through all 336 remarks, so I apologize if I’m repeating a sentiment already expressed.

Obama has made it clear that he has no intention of supporting bi-partisanship. As with every liberal and democrat, the onus of bi-partisanship only falls to the other side. In other words, bi-partisanship means “you must agree with me!”

My gut response to reading this was “fascist,” although I know it’s an overused word, I think an action like this is a strong first step.

He doesn’t have the guts to call out Arianna Huffington at the Huffington Post or Markos Melitos at The Daily Kos both whom perpetuate lies and slander.

In addition, I don’t suppose that Obama will be satisfied until Rush is wetting all over himself, like the lamestream media is doing, over “The One.” This country is in trouble.

The next step is to track down all of the members of conservative web sites and send in the civilian army to teach them a lesson about speaking out against the messiah. Adolph would be so proud.
