Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., suggests sending detainees of the terrorist detention facility at soon-to-be-closed Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to the former Alcatraz Island prison facility in San Francisco Bay.
Bond, who is vice chair of the Senate Select Intelligence Committee and member of the Subcommittee on Oversight of the Terrorist Surveillance Program, says his state and nearby Leavenworth prison in Kansas want no part in housing terror suspects.
Bond’s apprehension stems from concerns confirmed Thursday when President Barack Obama signed orders to close the “Gitmo” detention center and shut down secret overseas CIA prisons, review military war crimes trials, and ban the harshest interrogation methods of suspected terrorists.

I agree. I have launched a one person campaign to house the terrorists in Berkeley or Barbara Lee’s district (Oakland). Alcatraz is close enough.

I had thought about that. It’s not being used......except for a tourist destination. It is also said to be haunted with ghosts. Hehe! As crazy and superstitious as these terrorists may be.....this is a good thing.

You know, that’s not a bad idea. Either Alcatraz or the underground maximum security federal prison.
That is not practical. Alcatraz if falling apart. Lock them up in Nancy Pelosi’s basement with some of her dirty underwear on the stairs. They will stay in the corner whimpering.
Use AIDS-stricken homosexuals as prison guards. If you can’t torture them, you might as well scare the $hit out of them.
Beck said this on his show last night, joking it was in Pelosi’s district and the perfect place for them.

What’s the present structural integrity of Alcatraz? If the entire prison really isn’t up to code, then there will be plenty of opposition, from the annoying ACLU lawyers as well as from a finite number of far leftist special interest groups.
That’s a good idea for the next “Fleet Week” here in SF. Give the Blue Angels a little target practice...heh, heh.
I have a better idea. Send them to God.
Alcatraz could be the Ritz and there would still be plenty of opposition. I’m more worried about the prison’s ability to stand up to its “unbreakable” fame. These were another times...
