Had Palin had someone more Conservative as the front-runner, she might have done better

I doubt it, if she already got the conservative vote out, who else would another conservative at the top have brought out? IMO Sarah's problem was that she was pushed up too fast, she couldn't handle the foreign policy questions, etc (any more than I or most people could) since those areas wouldn't have concerned her as mayor or governor.

I think another Conservative at the top of the ticket might have brought in the folks who were so disgusted with McCain's immigration stance and McCain-Feingold that they voted third party.

Even Sarah Palin could not overcome McCain's background for some. After all, she would have been vice president, and a heartbeat away is light years so long as the heart beats.

Sarah Palin's 'handlers' (campaign aides/advisors) should have coached her on dealing with media (interview trickery/editing technique), foreign policy questions, and the gamut of other issues.

I do not see their failure as hers.
