WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama is officially the next president of the United States, Congress declared Thursday in fulfilling its centuries-old constitutional duty to certify and tally the electoral college vote from each state. Republicans joined Democrats in a standing ovation as Vice President Dick Cheney, in his role as speaker of the Senate, announced from the podium that Obama had achieved a majority of votes and would be the 44th president on Jan. 20.

The gutless goalong Repubicans are using the plea that ‘there is an ongoing court case on the issue so it woul dnot be proper for them to speak out on the issue.’ Getting time for a little revolution don’tchaknow!

I have no idea, but could see all went as planned today in Congress. I remember reading comments of a Freeper who stated that members of Congress can raise a point of order from January 8th through sometime in March. And if any Congress member does raise a point of order that President-elect Obama would be required to show he meets the constitutional qualifications. If any Freeper knows this to be true, please let us know. I just do not know if this is true.

My queston would be, what good would be be to raise a point of order after January 20th?

The Iraq War or msm version of the war was the straw that broke the camels back. The republican party has been on the decline for years, yet some are hesitant to vote for a third party as it might be throwing a vote away. But, too many cast their votes as against the Iraq War. They do not acknowledge that muslims want to wipe us off the face of the earth. Truth about Iraq has not been reported in msm (I was there, I know). I am new to this forum but hooked because participants call the truth - that msm has an agenda, that the dems and the repubs are two wings of the same bird, and that we are in grave peril from our own evil government, a government which becomes more brazen about stealing from working people and at the same time annihilating our liberties. It is fair to say that our government is owned by Lucifer.

Not my president and not my Congress — both irretrievably corrupt and anti-American. I pity what they, acting in league, are going to do to the Constitution. It’s time to unfurl the Gadsden flag until we can retrieve our beloved Stars and Stripes.

The drunk relative’s liver is toast. Wouldn’t you say?

If a point of order is raised after January 20th, then you have a live martyr, which would lead to riots which would lead to martial law...Is it not DC that would love a police state?

you may have a point, I figured that most conservatives had held their noses and voted Mc Cain seeing how few votes the third parties got (you never get them all anyway, there's always people protest voting).

I agree with you about her handlers, I don't blame her, it was their job to get her ready. I felt bad for her at times, I'm just an average guy but if I was picked to be V.P. and had to answer all those questions I'm sure I would sound like a blithering idiot since I just haven't given most of it much thought.

“... some are hesitant to vote for a third party as it might be throwing a vote away.” Not any more. The Republican party has shown it is too much like the Democrat party and not a viable political party of opposition any longer. I would love to see third party candidates for Congressional seats bubbling up all over the nation, but I would like to retaing enough Republican Seante seats to prevent a filibuster proof majority.

I do not consider Lucifer the owner of our Government (we are, for ill or good), but he does seem to have a lot of influence. It makes for suspicion as to who carries the title to the souls of the MSM, though.

I heard people justify voting for Obama by saying "the economy, we just needed to change things."

Thanks to the media, they were unaware that Obama and his fellow travellers were neck deep in creating the subprime mess which created jacked up demand for housing at its onset (because suddenly people who would not have qualified for loans on properties which would not have qualified as collateral were buyers), which created the housing bubble, etc. Nor did they factor in that Schumer's announcement of an economic crisis was the point where the panic button got hit, and houses of cards came tumbling down, leading to the biggest scam (bailouts) ever charged off to the taxpayers.

I place the blame on the media, who are the real danger to a Republic, for the ill-informed will make bad decisions and think they have acted rationally.

If Obama takes office, it will be a long 4 years.

Sister, that's been true since at least the mid seventies. Slaughtering your alive unborn children in the name of 'empowerment' is a demonic rite (Molech rings bells?). The democrat party has used that slaughter as a means to empower their political capital and the Republicans have used the institutionalize opposition to that rite as a means to empower their political bankruptcy.

Now we have a wicked (and I mean that in the sense of deep evil) Marxist who has skated into the presidency without proving Constitutional eligibility, touting a series of forged documents to raise hundreds of millions in campaign funds and neither party raises a peep in opposition.

The democrats and Obama minions worship the criminal ascendancy and the republicans think they will use his ineliigibility to make him impotent for four years, discarding our Constitution in the process of their political maneuvering. Disgusting

I’d love to see a third party take off too, the trouble is that the two parties make it difficult for third parties to get on the ballot in most states, so that means everyone would have to agree on one of the existing ones like the Constitution party and get behind it so it would get some seats, etc.

Too late for that now that the EC vote is recorded. I suppose they could try to impeach Biden for being “in on it” if they were so inclined, but they are not. The 20th Amendment, specifically Section 3, governs along with the 25th Amendment, Section 1. If Joe were disqualified or dies, hello President Pelosi. Pray for Joe’s health no matter what the outcome of these challenge cases.

Everbody should go to their local Congressmans/Senators website and “sign up” so they have your address. Then when they send you a letter requesting donations, send it back with a letter attached “My donation is attached to Obama’s BC. You find that, you find my donation”.

“Are we going to follow the Constitution or not?”

NOT. When we cranked up the federal reserve and graduated income tax we started ignoring the Constitution and it is been a rapid downhill spiral from there. Now we are just blantant and proud about trashing a perfect document.

Great.... all ZEROBAMA and his ilk have to say is NEGATIVE. The are fomenting a Negative Attitude and disheartening the American Public.

Rahmbo wants to use the Economic Woes to promulgate a deadly agenda to further the socialist beliefs held by ZERO's minions.

What we need is a LEADER who is POSITIVE in both Mind and Spirit, and HONEST in both words and deeds. He MUST truly has the BEST interest of the American People uppermost! And above all else, DO THE RIGHT THINGS!!

Did we get such a man???
