The Illinois Secretary of State should be removed from office for claiming to have veto power over the nomination.

What’s the little slimy weasel, Reid, doing. Making Burris sign an oath in blood?

yeah, as I posted elsewhere. The images of the dems turning a black man from the Senate yesterday was too much.

The Dems are now agreeing to take Burris.

This will work out as Burris will be fairly easy for a Republican to beat in the next election.

That is actually the MAIN reason the Dems didn't want him to get it. He is a serial loser in Illinois.

I excoriated Reid for refusing to accept Burris; now I’ll castigate Reid for folding like a cheap suit. You can’t win with me, Harry. I’m as feckless as a Democrat!

Not surprising at all. The appointment was legal and the Dem’s found themselves with a race card stuck to their collective faces.

Wonder what Reid has gotten for “his reconsideration” of the issue.

The simple fact is that the Senate does NOT have constitutional authority to reject someone duly appointed by a governor of a state. I’m not sure what in the hell are they all trying to do but it’s fun as heck to watch.

That vacant space between Reid’s ears is filled with his belief that he is a legend with the powers of a potentate. While the powers inherent to the leader of the senate seem to escape him as they deal with a constitutional government.
What a sad, bitter, little man to represent what once was a strong legislative body.
