Come on.
He received both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and completed his residency in neurological surgery within the University of Michigan Health System.
He’s assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine and associate chief of the neurosurgery service at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Save the criticisms for where and on they should be. Pretty qualified (even if its for a usless job like SG)
Seems petty to go after him.
I'm with you on this one. We are not like the shrill liberals who hated everything Bush did. Lets preserve our credibility by only criticizing things that warrant our concern.
Amen. There is plenty of room for legitimate ridicule of some of Bambi’s picks. This isn’t one of those times.
can’t say that i can find fault with this selection either, probably the best appointment he has made to date.
I’ll go with the comment that he is qualified but then wait for the major medical organizations in the US who stand up behind Gupta....and we will be waiting a long, long time. Most of these big-name organizations will want a guy who has “paid” his time and has earned alot of respect via the national “market”. Gupta does a good job on TV and I personally respect him as a neutral journalist...but beyond that....the guy doesn’t have years of experience.
I’m getting the impression that it takes a limited sales job to get Obama talked into accepting something (the fact that Caroline Kennedy is talked as the next VP already...is unsettling). I think he is showing his limited executive ability and experience already.
You're right to the extent that Gupta is a very smart guy with excellent medical credentials.
My only qualm is that I don't believe the SG job is as benign as you portray ESPECIALLY in a Democrat administration. It may be premature to criticize this pick now, but clearly I think we need to know much more about Gupta's political positions.
