Franken YouTube video pushes some buttons

Stepping up the pressure on the state Canvassing Board to count disputed absentee ballots in the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Al Franken's campaign Wednesday released a video with seven tug-at-the-heart stories from Minnesotans whose votes the campaign said were improperly rejected.

The video, which was released on YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBOad11LueE) and came two days before the board's Friday meeting on the issue, was immediately criticized by Republicans, who described it as "a new low" and another attempt to discredit local election officials.

In one scene, quadriplegic Mike Brickley of Bloomington is shown lying in bed -- with his head resting on a Minnesota Vikings pillow -- as he pleads with officials to count his vote. "I may be a quadriplegic," said Brickley, 46, as he stares into the camera and speaks in a halting voice, "...but we are still someone, and we deserve to have our votes counted."

A new low, even for Franken.....

I'm sure he's hard at it trying to outdo himself. One big long tantrum for him...

This taking advantage of others’ mistakes and misfortunes is exploitation at its worst and lowest. Even Al Gore’s 36-day temper tantrum from 2000 is classy compared to this.

What grabs my attention in the Franken campaign YouTube clip is that some of the "voters" who supposedly were "disenfranchised" by having their absentee ballots rejected "unfairly" show some paper or papers to the camera, claiming that they were holding their rejected bollot (or a copy of it) returned to them by by their local election officials.

It seems odd that the election officials would return rejected ballots to the voters, since it would entail more work and expense for them. By far the more likely explanation is that the Franken campaign gave them papers to hold up to the camera for their film presentation. It is very questionable as to whether the papers they held up are truly their own ballots and registrations, since the film doesn't zoom in on the content of the material. In other words, fraud in this film is a definite possibility.

Good summary of the perverse lefty mindset! They have no respect for history nor precedent nor stability of society and culture. Their goal is to tear everything down and build something completely new. We conservatives intuitively realize that what they want to create is truly a disaster.

Unless, of course, you voted for the other side. Then your votes can be thrown out, you personally can be harassed, physically and verbally abused and your property vandalized. Other than that, the voter's will is sacred.
