We have a surplus in Arkansas. We do not live high on the hog down here. People do not like taxes so spending in kept in check even by our conservative democrats who control the State.

California and Arizona.

Hmm. What could those two states possibly have in common?

Can’t think of anything...

What could it be?

California, Arizona, and New York have a high percentage of illegal aliens. Wow what a coincidence. Also states that have enacted TABOR, Taxpayer Bill of Rights (Balanced Budget Amendments) seem to be doing well, a Conservative concept.

In terms of actual dollars, however, California easily leads the pack...

Man... there's spin and then there's spin.

What a classic case of lies, damned lies and statistics... California, led by a legislature with arguably the lowest collective IQ in North America, has no equal.

The electorate is not too far behind. They recall a governor, then replace him with another who travels the exact same road, budget-wise. Without the b**** to stare down the "girlie-men" for as long as it takes.
If the legislature can't find ways to reduce spending, clearly the incompetents should all be fired and replaced with non-criminals.

It’s may be a bit deceiving. Don’t some states require a balanced budget by law? For example, it shows no budget gap for Grandholm’s Michigan and I hear she’s taxing the crap out of people.

Also, Alaska, Louisiana and TX all made out good last year because they’re oil producing states and the price of oil was way up.
