Stealth Jihad (Robert Spencer says "End Muslim immigration into the United States")
Frontpage ^ | 12/2/2008 | Robert Spencer

-snip-

FP: How do we stop the stealth jihadists?

Spencer:

Enforce existing laws.

Section 2385 of the federal criminal code states that “whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government…shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.”

If this already existing law – revised as of January 2, 2006 -- were enforced against Islamic groups in the United States, the stealth jihad could be stopped in its tracks.

Reclassify Muslim organizations.

Any Muslim group in America that does not explicitly renounce, in transparent and manifest deed as well as word, any intention now or in the future to replace the Constitution of the United States with Islamic Sharia should be classified as a political rather than a religious organization, and should be subject to all the responsibilities and standards, which political organizations must adhere. Or it should be closed. Likewise, mosques and Islamic schools should be closely monitored, and any that preach Islamic supremacism in the United States summarily closed.

End Muslim immigration into the United States, as a simple matter of national security.

Immigration policy must work toward the integration of all immigrants, but the all-encompassing societal program of Sharia makes integration of pious, serious, informed Muslims ultimately impossible. While there is no doubt that there are many millions of Muslims who have no interest in jihad either by violence or stealth, no Islamic authorities anywhere in the world have declared heretical or in any way unacceptable the idea that unbelievers must be fought against by various means and subjugated under the rule of Islamic law. Unless and until that begins to happen, no one can be sure of the sentiments of any individual believer. Consequently, simply to protect ourselves, there should be an end to Muslim immigration, combined with a clear notice to Muslims in the United States that any action on behalf of Sharia supremacism is unacceptable.

In today’s political climate, of course, such a measure is impossible. It will be denounced as “racism,” despite the fact that Islamic jihad supremacism is not a race. But at very least, immigration officials should adopt a program to screen Muslims entering the United States for jihadist sentiments. This will provide grounds for deportation if an entrant renounces some aspect of Sharia supremacism on his immigration application and then works for it once in the country.

Take pride in our own culture.

Reject the revisionism and self-hatred that dominates the textbook view of American history and Western civilization today, and recognize that Western culture and civilization are threatened in many, many particulars that we take for granted, and that they are worth defending. American citizens should stop spending so little time on the history of their own country, and on the civilization of the Western world, and so much more on a mishmash of practically everything -- which, in the case of Islam, also has become (as we have seen) a carefully-devised method to impart misinformation on the part of those who calculatedly employ the rhetoric of inclusion and multiculturalism to attain for themselves the right of final edit, as it were, of discussion of Islam in American history textbooks. We must re-learn our own history, and to take pride in much of it, and to revere, not find new ways to deride, those who built the political and legal institutions of this country, with its unrivalled freedoms and solicitude for the individual.

“How many Muslim nations actually have Sharia law?”

I can’t think of any others, but many local jurisdictions in Muslim countries such Pakistan are allowed to pratice Sharia.

To an extent.

I have traveled all throughout Pakistan. Similar to our nation, the cities (Karachi, Islamabad) are fairly liberal. Women wear blue jeans, people listen to music, alcohol is bootlegged

You go to Peshewar you watch your back. Ditto the tribal areas where there really isn’t much government there and therefore the locals govern themselves (what a concept, federalism!)

But when Nawaz Sharif in 1998 attempted to get Sharia law passed in Pakistan, it was roundly rejected by all parties except the lunatic fringe in Pakistan (which to be fair, is more then just fringe but still not nearly enough to impose its will)

The problem is not muslim immigration. The problem is muslim existence.

If the lunatic fringe of Muslim society is “only” 10% of all Muslims, that means there are over 100 million fanatical Muslims.

Since we have no way of knowing who is “moderate”, ie does not take the Koran seriously, and those who do take it seriously, we simply have to keep them out of our country.

LOL! That’s true. But we could make a start on the existence problem by at least keeping them out of our country.

We still have a fairly small population of them, and I think we should make it even smaller.

Its pretty simple, its a matter of economics

Where Muslims live the good life (UAE, America as examples) you have very little, if any terror activity.

In particular America because we spend too much time worrying about paying our mortgages and making sure the ‘Rats don’t take all of our paychecks in taxes. Well at least this one tries to :)

The life is too good in this country to strap a bomb, or buy a rifle and start blowing people to smithereens.

If there really was an infitada in the United States, it would have begun and occurred long ago. There are quite a few vulnerable high profile targets and acquiring what is needed for a massive terror operation is not impossible

But again, American life is real good, even for the loons that live here (and there are plenty of loons in this country, but they are all pussies and like looking at internet porn)

For the vast majority, that's true. But it only takes a few committed jihadists to inflict a lot of damage. ...and I suspect out of the 8 million+ Muslims in the U.S. there are more than a few who fall into that category. Plus many come here with the express purpose of waging jihad, not living the American Dream. It appears you're underestimating their numbers, their upbringing (in hate-filled schools/mosques throughout the world), and their committment to destroying the West.

“Where Muslims live the good life (UAE, America as examples) you have very little, if any terror activity.”

We’re still taking an un necessary risk by allowing them into America.

What do we, the American people, GET out of letting them come here, other than liberals gloating about “diversity” and some ethnic restaraunts?

The upside to letting them in seems low and the potential downside potentially catastrophic.

The only laws Congress is interested in enforcing are the gun-control laws against law-abiding people.

Everything else appears to be up for grabs.

Come on. Cab drivers, 7-11 workers and a bunch of dumb rich Saudi kids to sell very expensive tables and bottles to at swanky night clubs :)

Almost free money for an enterprising young person to make money off Muslims

I’ll point to the past 7 years as “whistling in the dark”

If you wish to live your life in fear looking over your shoulder, be my guest

I tend to enjoy being an American and having the privelage to live in our great nation

At a minimum, we cannot let in anymore Muslims into the US. The religion is too opposed to a country with and Anglo-Protestant and Christian Political-social-religious dynamic.

As for the Muslims who remain, if they don’t like being a suspiciousy viewed minority they can either stay but be viewed suspiciously by other Americans, leave, or convert to another religion or become atheists.

You’d actually be surprised

When “terror” was not the top issue (back in 2000) Muslims overwhelmingly voted for a born again Christian named George W Bush who wasn’t afraid to talk about his faith in God

Muslims and Christians have plenty in common including support of traditional marriage, and opposition to abortion. On top of that, most Muslims are entreprenuerail (spelling error) in nature and thusly support candidates who will keep taxes lower

Florida Muslims voted 54,000 out of 60,000 for GW Bush in 2000.

Better keep your teeth in good repair, friend, so you can keep on being cheery. (One cannot whistle without teeth)

“our great nation” may not last all that long, given your ignorance of the decline. You still have faith, but in exactly what? Our Constitution, perhaps?

The force that made the USA great is being ground down into the dust, and if you do not recognize this, wake up.

If you do, then, if you are young enough. fight for it! I am too old to do more than sound an alarm.
