LEOs?

What the Indian cops came against was a trained military unit. I doubt most of them had the training to know how to respond.

Most cops in the US also don’t have the training. thats why they are called cops and not soldiers.

True.

Which raises a question. Why are cops militarized? Why do they refer to their fellow citizens as ‘civilians’? Why do they have military rank?

Why did we have a Sheriff system and why did we create at the end of the 1800’s a Police system?

If not military, who are the militarized cops military to?

From the description, these were not trained commandos. Reason? They were firing from the waist and the death toll would have been much higher.

Remember the man who tried to get the security officer (not police) to fire at the killer inside the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The security man would not fire nor would he give up his gun.

Thank heavens Jeanne Assam (private citizen) was there to put the guy down before he could start killing people packed inside the sanctuary.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

Your point is well taken, but I’ll play the devil’s advocate here.

In that case, wouldn’t we be better off having a “national internal security force” that _did_ have “the training”?

There are officers in every dept who would have no clue what to do but hide and wish for the best.

But on the other hand there are those who have combat experience and those who practice and are gun persons who well take aim and kill those who need it.

Who well be there when it starts who knows the best might be on Vacation or there days off.

What kind of special training is needed?

1. Point frontsight at center of mass.

2. Squeeze trigger until BG drops.

3. Repeat as necessary.
