The President called members of the Armed Forces stationed in remote locations worldwide to wish them a happy Thanksgiving and thank them for their service to our nation

President Bush on Thursday applauded Iraq's parliamentary vote approving an agreement allowing U.S. troops to remain for three more years, saying it "affirms the growth" of democracy there. LINK

I shudder to think about Christmas in the WH next year...so I will just enjoy every day of the festivities this year, via the Dose.

Hi Luv, Laura says she is referring to her time after she leaves the WH as her afterlife and that they will be spending the week in Dallas and weekends in Crawford. I also heard they are buying a tear down house and will rebuild.

I am wondering if the future First Lady will cut her Thanksgiving weekend short to receive the Christmas tree on Sunday next year?

Where I live (central Florida), it's pretty much drive through surgery.

Well maybe they are being extra cautious because of her age and who she is?

Some folks think Brokaw was unduly harsh to her on the subject, but through it all: she was Laura, focused, gracious, knowledgeable, and forthright.

Thanks for posting the link to MTP. I am sorry Brokaw was harsh, but not surprised.

Hi Majie, Yeah the WH menu sounds lovely. Three desserts plus fruit. Now who would opt for fruit with those luscious sounding desserts, lol.

True, unless the Obama’s hand over the Christmas tree arrival to Mrs. Biden. The Obama’s don’t celebrate Christmas...or birthdays. Hm.

It has been a lovely 8 years with President Bush and the First Lady in our White House. Grace and beauty filled the halls, especially at this precious time of year.

daisyscarlett: THANK YOU for posting today’s DOSE update — I can’t wait to watch the videoclip from MTP (even though I find Brokaw, et al, disgustingly biased in their approach to anything Bush-related).
