Media Only Just Notices Obama Has Thin Resume?
Publius' Forum ^ | 11/20/07 | Warner Todd Huston

Interestingly, Dan Morain of the L.A. Times had discovered back in April that Barack Obama has a pretty thin resume prior to being elevated to the presidency. Between 1993 and '96, Obama, the much-ballyhooed "Constitutional scholar," had only an unusually low 3,723 billable hours of legal work accrued over a four-year stint with his law firm employer Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Gallard. Further, he seems to have worked on but few cases and made little impact commensurate with his reputation. Yet, just this month the Orlando Sentinel decides to re-print the Morain piece. The question I have, of course, is why is the Orlando Sentinel only NOW interested that Obama was "involved in relatively few cases before entering politics"? Where was this investigating before the election?

The Morain piece begins by recounting how Obama has so often made a big deal out of his days as a "civil-rights attorney" claiming it a key ingredient of his early, formative community development years. Yet, Morain finds that there isn't much record proving that Obama did a whole heck-of-a-lot back in those days. (bold mine)

Senior attorneys at the small firm where he worked say he was a strong writer and researcher, but was involved in relatively few cases before entering politics.

So, Obama, for all his claims of being involved in the lives of "churches and community groups" as a lawyer with the firm is... what? Blowing smoke? If the paper trail reveals he didn't work on many cases or have very many billable hours, how is it that he found this experience to be a monumental involvement in the community that shaped his career...

Can anyone say, ‘affirmative action’? That is why and how Obama has gotten so many creampuff jobs and prominent positions. The proof of this is that he has never shown any real talent, or even much hard work, in anything he’s ever done. I also think that the reason he didn’t go on to clerk at the Supreme Court is because it was easy to coast as editor of the Harvard Law Review, but he knew he’d be in way over his head at the Supreme Court and would have nowhere to hide.

“Maybe some of the media are getting concerned that they touted a fraud”

We must NEVER let the media off the hook for this.

Rush calls them the “Drive-bys” But that’s not enough.

He should call them the “Drive-by media who put Obama in office.”

... or something similar.

The media dissed and ditched their "ethics" many long years ago.....

IMO...their extreme bias just manifested more openly this election.

Even The Daily Oklahoman....has swerved hard left...running K. Parker as their every other day ranter.

Oh they know what state they are in....but they have noticeably turned to port over the last few years.

Personally I think the paper is in financial straits....

We shall see.

Barack Obama Resume

Part-time lawyer.

Part-time speechmaker

State Senate Accomplishments: Voted “Present” more times than “Absent.”

US Senate Accomplishments:

—Won passage of the “Mercury Minimization Act of 2007.”
—Asked if I would make calls to reach across to convince Republicans to vote for the Bailout Plan....took a pass and responded with “I’m not too good at that.”
—Attended several Foreign Relations Committee meetings, but none of the NATO Subcommittee that I “chaired.”

Executive Experience:

CEO of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
—oversaw the disbursement of more than $100 million for Educational Reform in Chicago Schools.
—No measurable reform was accomplished.

Why do you think it is so important to the left that it buy as many votes as possible, dumb down our children and create dependency in every available instance? A poll released yesterday showed 80% + of Hussein voters didn’t know dems were in charge of congress. Perfect fodder for a Marxist takeover.

He had no published articles in the Harvard Law Review. He published nothing when he was a law professor.

Gee, let us guess. Now why would someone NOT write if they were on Harvard Law Review? Maybe, just maybe, cause he would provide written evidence of a thorough lack of the ability to write and REASON. It's difficult to write. It takes discipline and thought to put words on paper in a manner to convince others of your position.

I saw an example on another thread on the FR of a university publication called the "Griot" . Great reading to see the total debasement of the university system... with the affirmative action Amish once again. Click here for an example of great university writing. Please read the "editor in chief's" first sentence. It's so pathetic that it's beyond funny.... almost.

And he billed less than 1,000 hours a year? Most firms require 2,000+ a year.

Gee, an affirmative action "no show" job that looks good on the CV, but doesn't make you DO anything. Kinda like a job on a hospital board for the wife, huh? I'm sure that Amorosa Obama really worked her tail off on the hospital board, doncha know?

I’d love to see some investigating about how he managed all of that.

Do you really think anybody is going to say, "affirmative action". Nah. Doncha know he's frickin brilliant. Hillary is brilliant. Boy Clinton-brilliant. Any lib or democrat... brilliant.

Oh, of course you also realize that all Christian, conservative and non-Amish are -stupid. really stupid and of course.... evil.

Now more than ever we need someone in the Executive position that knows what the hell they’re doing, and this is what we have. Just damn.

The leftstream media’s slavish devotion to the Deity-elect is truly pathetic. I have no doubt that Joseph Goebbels would be green with envy if he were alive today. Not even his brilliant propaganda machine could compete with this. Now I see on the cover of Newsweek BHO being compared to Lincoln, and on the cover Time BHO being compared to FDR. It doesn’t get any sicker than this. I am sure BHO’s triumphant inaugural extravaganza will be something comparable to Elizabeth Taylor’s grand entrance into Caesar’s Rome in the 1963 movie Cleopatra.

That BHO is an empty suit with no accomplishments goes without saying. He served 143 working days in the U.S.Senate and other than accumulating the most liberal voting record accomplished nothing. His record in the Illinois state senate was equally unimpressive and his claim to fame there was voting “present” more than any other legislator.

BHO’s real claim to fame is that he authored two best selling books, both about himself. I read them both found them to be incredibly boring. (btw- John McCain’s autobiography is a lot more exciting and interesting) The leftstream newsmedia should be ashamed of itself foisting this radical left charlatan into the most powerful job on the planet. Much has been said and written about the Deity-elect, but NO ONE has have ever said this man is humble. These next four years are going to be insufferable. All about BHO 24/7, even on the sports and entertainment channels. There will be no escape, no refuge. I miss the low key, down to earth, humble Bushes already.

Too sadly true.

The Obamunist was an affirmative action candidate, and his election had pretty much everything to do with that fact.

“He published nothing when he was a law professor.”

Please don’t perpetuate this myth. Obama was NEVER a law professor; he was only a law lecturer. Ask any academician: There is a world of difference between a professor and a lecturer.

So from what I gather here, the democrat philosophy apparently is find somebody who stands out in one way or other get him elected and then investigate him afterwards...

Are these guys so blinded by selfish ambition that all common sense is simply thrown out the window? These guys are like the Plebians of ancient Rome, they care only for their welfare rather then the welfare of others.

Personally, I think we need to pray that God would open their eyes to see their folly and that he would open their eyes to take in the glorious gospel.

I think you’re right. When the msm got on the O bandwagon things were looking pretty good. But since then the economy has tanked and they couldn’t change horses. So, now the chickens are coming home to different roosts. hee hee
