First: The country became the “United States” when the Constitution was ratified without the so called states rights “Tenth Amendment”;
Second: States Rights (or States Powers) depend on what is the definition of States Power;
Third: McCulloch v. Maryland 1819 was the one of the first codification in defining “States Power”.

Fourth: Do Washington, Adams, Hamilton as well as most of the strong central goverment advocates who signed the Consitution in 1787 qualify as Founding Fathers? Yes, I agree that Henry and Mason as well as the other Anti-Consitutionalist also qualify as Founding Fathers. Fifth: I am out of here.
