You may also be interested in this information at factcheck.org. Factcheck.org has viewed and photographed and posted the pictures of Obama's birth certificate, including the raised seal, at this link. They also show a copy of Obama's birth announcement from the Honolulu Advertiser.

Factcheck.org is run by the Annenberg Public Policy Center. The Annenberg Public Policy Center was founded by Walter Annenberg, a very good Republican. (Note the picture at the link of the Annenbergs greeting President Reagan.

Of course, I've been told here that none of the above matters because factcheck.org is an allegedly liberal organization so all the information there doesn't matter even though factcheck.org is cited by candidates from both sides, Democrat and Republican. McCain mentioned factcheck.org in one of the debates. (I believe he called it factcheck.com in error.)

The birth certificate not withstanding, the birth announcement from 1961 cinches it for me. Unless there was some kind of conspiracy 47 years ago between the doctors, the state of Hawaii, the local newspaper and others to conceal Obama's real place of birth, I don't think there's much more to be said.

Seriously though, how many people could tell an employer to look online for verification of any pertinent info?

I don’t know where Obama was born and that’s the issue I have with the matter. Instead of producing undeniable proof, he tries to get the cases dismissed on lack of standing and his “people” say the original certificate could be “embarrassing” for Obama. If he produced a birth certificate listing hospital/doctor/etc. that was verified by an independent source, I would accept it as true. But that COLB looks like something I could do on Photoshop and I’m not even that creative.

As far as the birth announcement, given the fact that his family lived in Hawaii, I don’t see that as anything proving it one way or the other.

Have you read what Calpernia said about the birth announcement? It’s mentioned up the thread in one of her comments. Sheesh - no microfiche, only a photocopy, looks doctored, and the address is completely unverifiable regarding connection with any of the principles, and anyone can call up the newspaper with birth info. The announcement is the least solid of any evidence of proof of where he was actually born.

I do not have the announcements in front of me. But as I remember them. None said he was born in Hawaii just that he was born to Stanley on a certain date.

If his mom went to Kenya, had Obama there and came back to Hawaii and the family lived in Hawaii, the grandmother could have put them in the paper just like you can put a wedding announcement in the paper to let the locals know that her daughter had a baby.

Anyway, who the heck is he that he cannot be imposed upon to produce his 1961 original birth certificate to be POTUS. Just defines the man as a real deceitful person. Just the type we want next to the Nuclear button.

That to me was the clincher. Why, 47 years ago, was it so imperative to make sure he was a NATURAL BORN American? That only became salient with his nomination to be president. For all other purposes, even election to the Senate, it would have been no big deal, had he been born abroad, to become an American via naturalization.

The birth announcement is irrelevant. Zero’s grandparents would have put it in the paper no matter where he was born.
No conspiracy is involved in such an announcement which is silent as to place of birth it should be noted.
