“I and others are concerned that this issue be properly investigated and decided before Senator Obama takes office. Otherwise there will be a serious doubt as to the legitimacy of his tenure. This doubt would also affect the respect people have for the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. I hope the issue can be quickly clarified so that the new President can take office under no shadow of doubt. This will be good for him and for the nation.” - Alan Keyes

My, such a bitter, rotten, hate-filled soul.

I can agree with that completely. If the long-form birth certificate is legitimate, I’ll stand up with the rest of my fellow Americans and call him President of the United States. Even if I hate every second of it. I’d rather go on for the next four years like that than constantly live under that doubt.

Alan Keyes is no slouch:

Keyes campaigned for the Republican nomination in 2000.

He finished 3rd in Iowa, with 14 percent.

He debated John McCain and George W. Bush; “Polls on many television stations went as far as declaring Keyes the “clear winner” of the debates.”

In Utah, Keyes received 20 percent of the vote.
