You do realise that the BNPs last leader, John Tyndal liked to dress in lederhosen with a swastika armband an make speaches extolling the virtues of Herr Hitler dont you? That the BNP is seen as a racist party is not exactly unreasonable, considering its membership and history...Our Dems should be so concerned about their Klansman (Byrd) and their open Socialist (Sanders)
Past leaders don't define the current party or it's goals; this taken from the BNP website
The British National Party believes in telling the truth, even if it is sometimes uncomfortable to hear or offensive to those who would rather bury their heads in the sand than face real problems in our society. But while we often pass quite critical comment on the impact of immigration, multi-culturalism and alien religions on the indigenous people of our lands, we have no animosity towards immigrants, their descendants or the followers of non-native religions. Nor do we intend to encourage others to feel such animosity, or believe that anything we have to say is likely to 'stir up hatred' against anyone. In fact, we believe that by providing a peaceful and Constitutional outlet for the anger and the frustration felt by millions of our people over the undemocratic transformation of our country by our political masters, the BNP actually defuses tensions. Where there is 'hate' we seek to turn it into righteous anger and political action against the only people who deserve to be hated - the politicians who use our taxes to turn our country into a place where we often feel like strangers in our own land.
That the BNP is seen as a racist party is not exactly unreasonable, considering its membership and history... And in Amerika, the Democrats had absolutely nothing to do with support slavery or the KKK??? [i.e., Sen. Robert Byrd(D)-WV or U.S. Vice President Andrew Johnson(D)]
Further, for myself born in England, but not having the eligibility to vote in Britain, I would also say this:
Being constantly told I am a racist by the leftists, even though my friends of differing ethnicity agree with me, I just say "yes, I am." It deflates their entire argument, ends the discussion and my friends know the truth.
Secondly, if it o.k. for some groups to be racists, why not others? When the accusations coming from the left about hurricane Katrina were directed at Republicans, why cower? I would have said yes, we created those hurricanes with weather machines to kill every minority we could!
Sure, their are indeed racists that should be publicly scourged, but to cower before the insinuations that you are somehow in their company?
Blacks in this country voted 97% for Mu-barak Hussein Obama bin Biden. Does that mean black people are racists? No - it means 3% of them have an open mind and it also leaves in doubt the other 97% to uselessly haggle over.
