The U.S. as a nation is trending more Socialist despite what Rush says. I can speak from observation of here in Virginia, the voters tossed out Conservative George Allen for a POS pervert named Jim Webb. They picked liberal Mark Warner over conservative Jim Gilmore in a landslide. Add to that, tossed out a few good, true Conservative Representatives for liberals...an especially good and true one Virgil Goode (R-VA 5th).

It seems that no matter how good, true and Conservative a candidate is, voters are picking the liberal Democrat over them now...

It's the liberal trending of the new electorate. "New Electorate" is a term I use to apply to transplants from the north migrating into Virginia bringing their liberal ways and voting habits with them. It also applies to college age and college graduates that have been indoctrinated and brain-washed into liberalism and socialism. They went all nuts for Obama.

Bottom line: The "Conservative Movement" cannot be rebuilt just by putting forth good or even great candidates. The "New Electorate" must be transformed into conservatives. That, will be difficult, if not nearly impossible. Why? 1. Blacks are not going to become conservatives. 2. Hispanics are not going to become Conservatives. 3. With high divorce rates or just plain non-married women - single women with children vote for government to be their husband and father to their children. 4. The seemingly increasing homosexual population are never going to become Conservatives. 5. The "New Christians" (who are not really true Christians) are trending to vote liberal. I think I read 25% (or higher?) of 'so-called' Christians voted Democrat/Obama.

So, what is there left to work with? Many, but not over half the population I think.
