In one of his first acts since being elected president, Barack Obama called on two former Clinton administration staffers to head his transition team and serve as chief of staff.
After a nearly two-year campaign, President-elect Obama has 77 days to hand-pick a Cabinet and advisers to help set and carry through his agenda -- a difficult task made all the more difficult by his interest in maintaining his campaign promise to change the culture of Washington.
As an indication of how tough that change might be, Obama's initial appointments of former Bill Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta to oversee his transition and former Clinton policy adviser Rep. Rahm Emanuel are being hailed by some as the right picks for the jobs and derided by others as more of the same.
In addition to Podesta and Emanuel, a number of former Clinton staffers and Cabinet members have been named to the transition team, and three of the four names being floated as a potential treasury secretary have roots in the Clinton White House.
The senior staff and advisery board of the transition team include 10 former Clinton officials, including former Commerce Secretary William Daley and Frederico Pena, who served as both secretary of transportation and energy.

Clinton’s era again ?
So we can expect a new 9/11 to happen before 2012 ?
Someone suggested that, because anti-Semites used the expression “Neocon” to criticize Jewish members of the Bush administration, it could be turned right back on them by saying that Obama’s first pick for his new WH staff is “a Neocon”, Rahm Emanuel.
Probably a smart move, though. Klintoon’s first of many mistakes was bringing in as CoS his schoolmate chum McLarty, who didn’t have a clue as to how Washington works. Whatever you might want to say about Rahm Emanuel *cough*sh-tweasel*cough*, being clueless as to how DC works is not one of them.
"I got your change right here AmeriKKKa."
"Whatcha gonna have?" asks the barkeep.
"Gimme some change." says Obomba.
"This is a bar, not a bank. Now what can I getcha?"
"I want change you can count on."replies Obomba.
"Oh. You want the Salvation Army. It's just two doors down the street."
"OK. Give me all your money."orders Obomba.
"Now I know who you are." says the barkeep.
Keep the change!
Hoping for a cave-in.
Ok, can we all say “old reruns and old retreads?” That is what GWB’s picks were called back in 2000 because he reached back to former administrations.
Any talks of “the one” picking a black American?
Of course not! He’s the only bright, articulate, and clean black man... Joe Biden said so!
It will be interesting to see whether he chooses any minorities or women in his cabinet. I’m guessing no he won’t.
He has to go after Clintonistas. All his friends are terrorists, criminals, dictators, hate mongers, or mindless supporters.
If you remember, the Clinton administration went through the same thing in early 1993. They had to fill the ranks of his first cabinet with old people and Carter-era hacks like Warren Christopher and Lloyd Bentsen because they were the only Democrats in Washington who even know how to spell the word "cabinet" after 12 years of GOP administrations.
where is change
