What’s the deal with blacks and a black armband? I’ve always known the black armband to be a symbol of mourning. Is mourning offensive to blacks? You could fool me, given that the most demonstrative exhibits of mourning (wailing, screaming loudly, tearing at the hair, fainting) I’ve ever seen have almost all been by blacks, especially black women. Is it that the camera sets them off so? Do blacks mourn with more reservation when there is no camera around?
Just wondering.
