They had freedom to edit the interview, so basically carte blanche to make the Governor look like an idiot.
Compare the interview of Governor Palin with the interview of Joe Biden telling us about how FDR was Prez in 1929 when the stock market crashed and went on the TELEVISON to calm everyone.
FDR was not Prez in 1929 and TV was not available to the mass market in the US at the time...

I know what she said. I always feel anxious every time she talks. And she has this ‘I am a politician’ feel. Dodging questions, adding extra words to her answers, etc.
I don’t get this feeling when I listen to someone like laura ingraham. She is very straight and to the point.
