The founders warned of what has happened.

It can be fixed.

The people have spoken. They want Communism. Now we shall see if Communism can stand on its own without those willing to support it.

There are two classes that make it work: Producers and takers. If the Producers with no incentive suddenly join the ranks of the takers and demand the government take care of them, the system cannot hold up to the overload. Time and time again the Marxist model fails in history.

What if all the producers simply refused to produce anymore and demanded they take care of us? Push them and push the Marxist model to perform as promised, or fail hard. Soup and bread lines and the whole nine yards showing the joys of Socialism.

That’s the way Reagan did it. Bankrupted them. Marxism failed the test. We can accelerate the failure. Once those revenue streams dry up, they’ll have to keep dropping the tax brackets to “chase us” downwards until there is a general revolt by the electorate who suddenly realizes this ain’t gonna work.

Right now, we the producers are keeping them in their dream world and enabling them by going along with the present system and supporting the non-producers.

Our once proud nation, today admitted that it has become a pathetic bunch of losers who are no longer proud to be Americans, I have written here and spoken to friends and associates that; I don't fear an Obama presidency, I fear a fellow citizenry who would be so pitiful and wanting and niave and avaricious that it might elect someone like Obama to be POTUS

I tend to agree with you. Yes Obama is scum but I'm actually more angry at the idiots who voted for him. A pox on these people. And this includes some relatives and friends (now ex-friends). I consider the people who voted for Obama traitors. Scum even. Yes they are pitiful and I just wish that it were just they who would suffer. As for my relatives who voted for Obama. Well they are now on my *hit list. I've let them know how disgusted I am with them. I've removed all the Obama voters from my will. I'm a man of means so this will inflict some punishment. If they outlive me it will cost several of them over a million bucks. I encourage all Freepers to do the same. Never give up. Crush your enemies. Show no mercy. Make them suffer. A pox on them all.

So, you are faithless because your fellow conservatives did not come through for you? And because of the outcome of this election you’ve decided to abandon a resource that is home to a tapestry of conservative voices that has been silenced by the MSM? Just when our conservative base needs to form a more unified front (without compromising ideological convictions), you’re going to high tail it out of here?

I would say that an American (true American) can be independent AND part of a body of believers, if you will, at the same time.

I’d encourage you to reconsider this decision because it reveals a deeper problem in your thinking.

The members of Free Republic, and what we stand for and represent are precisely what the liberals are not. We are not a collective. We share differing views and beliefs, and yet, agree on any number of issues involving our nation which helps to support and move our cause forward.

I hope you’ll reconsider. God bless you.

I feel petty depressed to, and am sick to death of any more election talk. I think we all are. It seems we’ve been in perpetual election mode for 8 years now, with these last two being disappointing beyond pale.

In fact the past for years have been disappointing if you count the lack of action by Bush on so many issues.

But I’m sure after a good rest, a good break from all the BS, we will all return to fight another battle.

I've thought the same thoughts more than once, but I realize my time isn't wasted here. There are people here that know something about everything, and there are people here that are willing to discuss off beat ideas with me. Many are obnoxious, but so are others outside FR. I haven't had any words hurt me yet. I believe Hanity, Rush, Anne Coulter, and others frequent here and pick up ideas. How neat is that to discuss something tonight and have Hanity talk about it tomorrow? Admittedly, I sent mountains of info to these people and Hanity is the only one that ever mentioned anything I said, and that only rarely.

Stop and think about it. Without us, you will watch American Idol, or Dancing with the Stars and your brain will turn to Jello and you will wonder why you were ever upset with America.

Take a break, but you WILL be back. It's like a drug.

My understanding of what FR is all about is not “freeping”.
It’s news.

For me it has always been like a news funnel and sifter that brings in information from all over and that gets fully vetted by the independent thinkers and investigators.

It’s a grass roots sort of a place where I can vent AND become fully informed at the same time.

However, I’m sure the left loves to hear stories like this one about how freepers are just going to just crawl away back into some hole with their hands over their ears.
Don’t be the icing on their cake.

I understand where you’re coming from. While some have misunderstood your post in thinking you are blaming the people here What I heard you saying was posting here isn’t going to defeat the evil we have just elected to run our country.

Something a lot more pro-active.

I will no longer claim to be a republican. Elements within this party discust me. I will not support a party that allows members to attack Gov. Palin in the manner we have seen.

With Obama’s national police force and the BILLIONS of tax dollars going to ACORN this may well be our last quasi-free election.

Obama has said he opposes gun ownership, so of course there will be the idiots that say we must do what Cesar tells us.

My guess is this ends really bad, probley civil war.

One thing for sure, Americans have killed the goose and GWB a republican socialist helped lead this nation deeper down the road to communism.

Obama after all is friends with and probley a radical marxist.

We’re screwed.

I agree with you completely. Since there will be a flood of 40 or 50 million new Democrat voters who cannot speak English and therefore won’t be listening to talk radio by 2012, it is pretty much over. Next, the deluge. America has decided to dissolve into the brown socialist world.

I hope you change your mind, but I understand.

I'm going to wait a few days myself. If I see a continuation of the over-the-top contentious behavior I have seen on here during the campaigns, I will be bidding farewell also. I've given it strong consideration.

Best wishes to you, my FRiend. I hope we're all back on here someday, somehow celebrating a return of our liberties.

I’ll never give up on my country. I owe that to my son and every other person serving this country. Our country didn’t die, we had an election, we’ll have another one in 2 years and another (presidential) election in 4. We have time to recapture who we are as a party and a nation. We lost track of that. Maybe the lessons of Obama will be painful but sometimes we can only learn who we are (as a nation and a party) when we step back and take an honest look at ourselves. Jimmy Carter brought us Reagan. Clinton gave us Newt...imagine what Obama will bring. We are America. This election is an anomaly. When we don’t have a strong candidate this is what happens. But we have wonderful conservatives like Sarah and Bobby Jindal waiting in the wings. It will be okay.

I don’t know why one can’t FReep for a half an hour in the morning, get the news, then go to work. It’s a good news source, but it doesn’t have to take up so much time that one can’t do anything else worthwhile.

Yep.
Good opus.

This whole election has amounted to the ultimate irony: A nation IS it's citizens, and Americans have (enthusiastically!) directed their nation down the same toilet of mediocrity as the socialist nations of old Europe. Therefore, America is no longer worth caring about. Ironic!

If most Americans don't care about their own nation, then I'm sure not going to give myself heartburn worrying about it.

It is not a waste..

Your Faith will continue to see you through.

You have chosen to open up more doors/window of opertunity.

Hence you wont be hanging out at FR so much in the near future.

God Speed...take a nap and feel better than go conquer your next adventure.

"But that is what it has been, a waste. "

FR is a great site, and a great place to exchange ideas, and blow off some steam. However, no matter how much we post, and how much we bitch, the election is what it is.

I remember being on FR when clinton was elected - both times - and feeling pretty low...almost as low as the messiah being elected. But, we got through it.

And you know what, having FR available is what helped me get through the clinton years. When you're frustrated, having a place to vent it, with like-minded people, is the best therapy around.

A whole $hi+load of liberals and the MSM have been empowered tonight, but, we're still a force to be reckoned with, it wasn't exactly a landslide. And, we've still got a lot of buying power in America.

We need to hunker down and help Atlas shrug. Continue the fight; cancel all those liberal magazine and newspaper subscriptions, don't watch/listen/read any liberal media, even the alphabets. Cancel all liberal based charities.

They show getting more votes, (still not sure it was all legal), but we still control a heck of a lot of buying power. Remember, the ones who pushed the "wealth spreader" are going to turn on him when it doesn't happen.

Obamites are all stupid enough to think election day was "Christmas Eve", and it will be freebies for everyone fo the next four years...ain't gonna happen.

So, again, hunker down - you have a couple of months to move your "wealth" into something safe, and make other preparations. Don't waste the time brooding. We all knew there was a distinct possibility that he would "win" with all the ACORN fraud going on.
