RARE INTERVIEW: Oprah talks about election
Talk show mega star Oprah Winfrey took time out before filming her show on Election Day to talk with Ed Lover on New York's Power 105.1.
During the eight minute long conversation, Winfrey confirmed she would be at Senator Barack Obama's rally in Chicago this evening.
Winfrey came out in support of Obama in 2007, and has spoken at some rallies. However she has shied away from discussing politics on her show. But she told The Ed Lover Show that after the results she plans to "unleash."
Criticized for dismissing an interview with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Winfrey said she didn't want to mix her personal politics with the show. However, she says following the election she'd be happy to speak with Palin if Palin wanted.
During the discussion Oprah also explained a "visual board" she's created to imagine an Obama presidency.
"I was speaking with Michelle [Obama] and Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver we were all doing a big rally out in California. At the end of the rally Michelle Obama said something powerful, 'and I want you to leave here and envision Barack Obama taking the oath of office.' I created a vision board. I had never had a vision board before. I came home, I got me a board and put Barack Obamas picture on it and I put a picture of my dress I want to wear to the inauguration."
Typical Oprah visual board.
“However, she says following the election she’d be happy to speak with Palin if Palin wanted.”
VP Palin will be too busy then, “O”.
I have always had a vision board. It's called a TV. My vision board never has Oprah on it.
“I came home, I got me a board...”
I guess you don’t have to be articulate to earn $50,000,000 a year and have your own book club.
I think its like “consciousness raising.”
Visualize whirled peas. :-)
She’ll UNLEASH her adipose tissue from the confines of those SPANX bodyshapers? Gawd help us. She already looks like a ‘busted can of biscuits’.
Let’s see if I have this right.....
I just make a vision board of myself in a Rolls Royce and PRESTO, I get one!
Fantastic, why didn’t I think of this before... life could have been so much simpler that way for me!
What will she unleash....her belt?
Hope she has her INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH HOVER CRAFT standing by for when things get ugly tonight:

The biggest problem is a mathematical one. The 5000 or so police officers will be gravely outnumbered and placed in danger. There is no way to keep out thousands of armed street gang members or protect the thousands of businesses. The cops will be way out manned and outgunned. Police cannot use deadly force against looters because of a 1967 Illinois law.
Some officers I talked with are expecting to become targets of the unprecedented mob that will descend into the area. Once the mob gets control of the outdoor lighting any hope of security will be lost for sure.
There would be no way to protect the Loop. How much priceless art will be lost at the Art Institute? Will the brand New CBS broadcast Center be destroyed? I know a lot of cops that would look the other way as that place is looted and trashed.
The numerous buildings of every government level that house sensitive records will be in jeopardy. Imagine gang members getting into Daley Center court offices and destroying the records associated with pending trials.
The only good idea officials seem to have is to open the bridges along the Chicago River keeping mobs from spreading to the Gold Coast. The Chicago River is a great barrier and that will control mobs moving Northbound.
Its too late to stop what Barack Obama and his energetic supporter Richard M. Daley has set in motion. The Genie is out of the bottle.
I have this visual in my head....
Picture a cold, clear day in Washington....and I hear these words...
“I, John Sidney McCain, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
So help me, God.
Play it over and over in my head until it is so.
“What a sad, sad commentary on our society that someone like this is so revered.”
That is the seeds planted in the 1960s, the touchy New Age stuff. Then the seeds were watered with the public school political correctness in the 70s - 90s. Now we are reaping what was sown.
Oprah should not be anything more than a local Chicago personality and not a national celebrity. She has no real talent.
Oprah...how much of your wealth are you willing to spread? When your loyal fans don’t have jobs, are struggling to get to work with $5 gasoline and can barely afford to heat, air condition or light their homes will they still be watching you or buying your books?
Perhaps she can go to "The View" to unleash. However, if she shows up, she would block the view.
What? She’s going to stop wearing a bra?! I’m confused, unleash what?
I thought Oprah was in jail for getting caught at the airport with three hundred pounds of crack under her dress.
The only thing she will unleash is her belt.
I warn her.
Oprah, here's a good saying that will cheer you up. "You can never be too rich or too thin"..
Oink.
