No joke...the poor are poor because they have babies before they finish college...they don’t graduate high school.....they have drug, alcohol and violence problems....they don’t stay married to the same person or get married at all....they don’t get a job and stay at it for years and years.....

The poor are poor because they don't work very hard. Some exceptions to that statement but very few. The original “safety net” was to help those that could not help themselves not those that will NOT help themselves.

Amen, Amen, Amen...There is a limitless amount of wealth in this country if people are willing to work for it. Because one person has more it doesn't mean another has less. This is the big lie the dems have been pushing for decades to keep their base from trying and full of hate.

Rich people don't put their money in mattresses. If they put it in the bank most of it is put right back into the economy in the form of loans to other people/businesses. If they put it in the stock market it helps other businesses. Even if they spend it on extravagant stuff it goes into the pockets of waitresses, yacht builders, car builders etc etc.

The only time wealth doesn't continue to circulate is when the government sucks it up. I'd much rather rich people circulate their wealth than the government stop its circulation.

General lack of initiative has caused this malaise in our population. Why work when the Government will supply your ever need.

I made my way through college working two jobs. (drove cabs four nights a week and bounced in a local bar on the weekends). The Government promised me nothing and my family couldn’t help. I had a desire to accomplish something other than working in a factory for the rest of my life. And, I refused to accept any government assistance.

I don’t want to hear it!

I have no disagreement with this but have some ideas on why a loser like Obama is doing so well. I think that distortion of the markets by government :1) Iraq war and government spending, especially was making some people rich but with borrowed tax dollars and huge deficit and 2) the investor bailout, make people much more susceptible to beief that the R government takes care of the rich , and screws the poor, like Obama and dems run on now. So they are more likely to blurr the idea of tax cuts versus tax rebates (welfare) because they figure the government borrows from China to make the rich richer. I am just glad the past few weeks the republican campiagn got onto the redistribution theme, tax cuts vs welfare(McCain could have hit a home run if he took a Maverick stand on the bailout) . But I do see where our party caused a problem with HUGE government and spending.

Everybody, please keep an open mind. Some people are rich because of dirty shady deals made decades ago.

don't believe me?

Then explain Papa Joe and his demon spawn.

(Proverbs 13:18 KJV) Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

(Proverbs 23:21 KJV) For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

(Proverbs 28:19 KJV) He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

(Proverbs 28:22 KJV) He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

(Proverbs 10:4 KJV) He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Hillary gets $8,000,000 up front for a lousy book and Bill gets $100,000,000 in post presidency payoffs for all the hard work they did. George Soros gets billions in rigged money trades, yes hard work again. Castro has a billion salted away for his hard work. And then there is the three quarter trillion for hard working bank executives that are hard at work wrecking the economy. Since I don't work as hard, I have to be more patriotic and smile as the tax rates go up to reward all those hard working non tax payers.

Every time I hear the righteous moralizers telling me to work hard if I want to success, I feel like smacking them.
