He appears armed...Pulling up to him in a vehicle would not be real desirable...

Have 4 cars park 20 meters away and just have the officers draw and level. One guy on a bullhorn to explain the facts of life. I mean crap the police have the door and body armor.

And cops generally have access to long arms in the trunk of the squad car.

No need for a freaking SWAT team here.

This is California (my home state) we're talking about. Overreaction is a way of life there.

The door won’t stop anything and street cops’ body armor offers limited protection. In most departments, the SWAT team are street officers with additional gear and training.

That said, it sounds like another suicide by cop.
