I am looking for a source for a report I heard early this morning on SRN News during the Bill Bennet show, it wasn't on the Bennet show, it was on the SRN news cast at the newsbreak. I can find nothing on the Internet, or on SRN's web page either, and the story to my knowledge hasn't been repeated. I think it's killed. If anyone remembers hearing it too, please let me know if you've been able to find anything on it.
Here's the gist:
Apparently, there is a group being formed along the lines of EMILY'S LIST for the purpose of pushing through the "Liberal Agenda" in the next Congress. It was reported that this group used the term "The Liberal Agenda". This group's name ends in the acronym "NOW". (there's nothing like the word NOW in the name of a group that says Leftist Agitator).
It was reported that this group is putting the Democrats of the next Congress on notice that if they do not vote with The Liberal Agenda, this group will fund their opponent in the next primary election.
Like I said, I didn't catch the name of the group, and another detail at the beginning is fuzzy, but I seem to recall there was some connection to ACORN or Obama. This caught my ear, so I think I did hear that correctly, the connection to ACORN or Obama. The first part I reported I do clearly recall.
In light of the fact that I just read an article that said Conyers was going to hold up the Reparations bill until after the election for the next Congress, this left wing funding group makes me very nervous. And that they admit they have The Liberal Agenda ready to go.
Does anyone remember hearing this?
I didn’t hear anything on the Sirius broadcast of Dr. Bennett’s show, but didn’t Cavuto have a story yesterday about Pelosi’s “Ram Plan” that was along these lines?
SOP, happens EVERY TWO YEARS..............
0bama’s real agenda: Liquidation of evangelicals and the bourgeoisie.
So is the question...should you vote republican? The answer is YES.
Good day.
More insurgent and useful idiot fun, more Cloward-Piven.
The nutcases may just end up with a significantly smaller majority in both houses if they keep talking. I know the proposed 401(k) elimination & forced conversion is scaring a lot of people.
People who were glasses might be very afraid after Nov. 4.
Even if Obama wins the WH, the honeymoon will be short and buyers’ remorse will be instantaneous. Liberals will want their radical changes immediately set in motion and cast in irreversible ‘legislation’. Bank on it.
You people have no idea the s%$# storm that's coming.
>You people have no idea the s%$# storm that’s coming.
So, you’re saying I need more guns, and more ammo then?
I saw some mention of this over at DailyKos. I wish I could give you more details, but I didn’t read the articles.
I would say that yes, there is a serious plan to do this.
Ha! That’s a good one.
I don’t have a gun or know what to do with one. But, I may have to get hip quick. I live in the city.
"They" being kossaks and I took the 'cleaning out' comment to be moderate dems.
fwiw.
Well that will only work if......and I mean IF the blue dogs don't switch sides..........
Personally, I'd tell Nancy to "Go ahead ...make my day." (then walk across the aisle....and make a nice lunch date with Mr. Boehner)
Think Pelosi would sh!t her pantsuit.......
Strong arm tactics only work if you've got no place to go.......
Better put operation “hip quick” in action ASAP. Personal protection is a must. Other option (unacceptable) is to get “gun free zone” placard.
Well, that’s what political movements do: they support their friends and punish their enemies, especially the primaries; the Club for Growth does it on the right, MoveOn does it on the left, and there dozens of such groups large and small, influential and not, all across the political spectrum.
For a while there, conservatives in America had it made in the shade: the Democrats were divided, hapless, and above all else traumatized by their regular defeat at the hands of a well-organized, well directed and well-funded conservative movement centered in the Republican Party; they tried to run safer and safer candidates, and safer and safer campaigns, and completely lost any sense of brand or direction.
However, those days are past. It’s taken a while but the Democrats, have not only caught up in terms of organization, fundraising, political sophistication, and willingness to take chances to attract the electorate’s attention, they have internalized the lessons they’ve learned from watching the Republican Party’s ground game and ideological acumen over the last 20 years, and are now surpassing their teachers in some respects.
And it could get worse.
For example, for the last two elections the Democrats have been willing to not only accept but embrace pro-life candidates if that’s what it takes to win congressional and senatorial seats from red states - you know Democrats are getting serious about becoming a competitive national party when you find people over at Daily Kos supporting such candidates because pragmatically it’s the only way to advance the rest of their program.
Meanwhile, it’s Republicans who are getting hung up in litmus tests, worrying about whether a Mormon should be president, and running a all-white all-male contest in the primaries - while at the same time that the Democrats are nominating a black man for Prsident. (At least with Palin the party has come around on that since the convention ).
The reason the Democrats have become more successful -including in their fundraising - is not because they become more radical, it’s because they could become more pragmatic. Their willingness to compromise on contentious positions within the party creates the potential to nominate winning candidates in places where the party has been dead for a decade or more, and that breeds excitement, and participation, and mobilization, and that’s the kind of feedback loop that both parties that win power in national elections. It’s more than just holding your nose, and voting for the lesser evil, it’s being willing to enthusiastically accept compromises that bring you the political power to advance the majority of your agenda.
Hmmmmm..... an interest group. How dare they.
