I know where you are going with that but here is the problem with that line of thought.

It was just destroyed only a couple of weeks ago.

How many congress men got in trouble for advocating a huge bailout? Most.

The problem is the five dollar bill syndrome.

Throw a five dollar bill on the ground and everyone will reach for it. It's that simple.

Ask me if I want a 10,000 dollar stimulus check(or even $600) and most people say yes bring it on! It's the money for nothing syndrome. Always looks good until the bill comes due. And it always does.

Dunno. I bet they'll all be back. Or most. Nobody here is using voting for the bailout against any candidates that I know of. I dont think I understand how this relates to your point about handouts, though....directly.

I understand the problem - socialism doesn't work because somebody, who will be less and less motivated, has to support the rest. However, our liberal teachers in our liberal education system are actually teaching the ideas of entitlement (and it starts with grades for little performance). I worry for when the boomers leave the workforce and are replaced with these kids.
