Postal Employee: “May I help you?”

Kramer: “Yeah, I’d like to cancel my mail.”

Postal Employee: “Certainly. How long would you like us to hold it?”

Kramer: “Oh, no, no. I don’t think you get me. I want out, permanently.”

Supervisor: “Is everything all right here, Postal Employee Newman?”

Newman: “Yes, sir, I believe everything is all squared away. Isn’t it, Mr.Kramer?”

Kramer: “Oh, yeah. As long as I stop getting mail!”

If he doesn’t want any “attention” from his fans...doesn’t want to be bothered, etc. why keep a web site up and running?

Is Ringo still alive?

All fan mail for the last ten years had to be sent in braille.

I like Ringo ...

It's worth reading Beatles producer Geoff Emerick's book about what it was like with the Beatles. He provides a real insider's view of their personalities. He didn't care much for Ringo, saying he was friendly and likable when he knew the cameras were on him, but was otherwise basically a jerk.

What did he say about Geroge? He always appear to be a great and quiet guy who was not treated to well by John and Paul.

Does he have to get my request by Oct. 20th, or does it have to be postmarked by the 20th? :o)

Ringo is a talented drummer...and like it or not, the Beatles would NOT be the Beatles without him.

At 68 I’d imagine just about anyone would find time short enough that they wouldn’t want to spend it signing autographs. Good for him.

I like Ringo. As far as I know, he isn’t out there making an ass out of himself like so many other celebs are. He has been married to Barbara Bach for many years. He must be doing something right.

Somehow, I think Gene Simmons could turn this into a money-making enterprise.

Postmaster General: “Kramer, I’ve been, uh, reading some of your material here. I gotta be honest with you: you make a pretty strong case. I mean, just imagine. An army of men in wool pants running through the neighborhood handing out pottery catalogs, door to door.”

Kramer: “Yeah! Ha ha.”

Postmaster General: “Well, it’s my job. And I’m pretty damn serious about it.”

Let’s see, he’s the...cute, smart, talented are all taken. Ringo is the Beatle with the groovy name!

He's also the "least obnoxoius" Beatle. Lennon was the commie. McCartney the vegan stoner (though many of us have sympathy for a man who had to deal with Heather Mills), Harrison the anti-Christian Hare Krishna dude who forgot three-quarters of his chords after picking up a sitar. Ringo just wanted to play drums, sing some songs, make some money, get movie roles and tv parts cause of his history, and marry Barbara Bach. Comparatively normal.

So I say, no no no no ...
I won’t sign ‘em no more.

I’m tired of picking sacks off the floor.

No thank you please
my mailbox is in a squeeze

No autographs go out the door!

(To the tune of his novelty #1 hit “The No-No Song”, which was actually a B side to the forgotten “Snookeroo”)

You spent your whole life trying to get people to buy your records and make you famous and now that you are rich and famous, screw the fans.

That's basically what he said. He also said, though, that he was often frustrated by how long it took George to work out his guitar solos. I got the impression he didn't really respect George's musicianship. Emerick was a huge Paul fan, however.

Reminds me of the time Arthur McGowan said he didn't want any more pings.

Mr. McGowan - I'm sure you will appreciate the ping to this important story. :)

“If he doesn’t’t want any ‘attention’ from his fans...doesn’t want to be bothered, etc. why keep a web site up and running?”

I don’t think he ‘doesn’t’ want any attention from his fans’... It may be that it is HE that feels he can no longer dedicate the requisite ‘attention’ for them.

Thus, he is asking that they don’t send him anything to sign.

Of course, this puts a damper on ANY fan-mail as he would be afraid that ANYTHING he opens would be a request for HIM to do something for THEM (THE FANS) — rather than simply fans who wish him well.

I’m sure — as you indicate — he still wants attention... as all humans do to some extant.

I’m sure Ringo is wise enough (he should be)to understand that fame and fortune are transient.

Ah, the burden of fame and fortune!

A burden most of us have not had to shoulder.

He knows — as we all do — that he can’t take these things with him.

Perhaps his wealth and fame make the above realization all the more poignant, at this time in his life.

Ringo is a moron who actually believes the hype about himself.

Want proof?

Watch the Regis episode where Ringo throws a hissy fit when someone dare cuts his long boring song.
