Excellent commentary and exactly what I have been saying for MONTHS...

This is the danger of Obama... It is the same tactic CHAVEZ used in Venezuela. Shut down Opposition.

Imagine if Rush Limbaugh would have incited this.

Bravo for Michael Barone’s bravery in speaking this truth - I can only pray that others will speak the same truth before it is too late...

Pray for Our Republic.

And there Plan B appears to be to stuff the ballot box with phoney Obama votes. Talk to your ACORN friends about this.

The Obama campaign and the Democratic Party pose a very grave threat to the bill of rights. McCain's response? He forbids the use of Obama's middle name and takes the hatemonger Reverend Wright off the table.

We simply cannot win if we will not engage.

In this instance, McCain is not just fighting for his own political career, he is the champion for all of us and he has a duty to all of us to fight for our precious First Amendment rights. Why do I detect shades of George Bush here?

The key to this article is who wrote it. Not some nutjob like Corsi (who’s a 9/11 truther) but Mr. Barone. Barone is a highly respected political analyst whose words must be seriously considered.

“I want you to argue with them and get in their face.”

This must be the sort of thing Obama learned at the knee of his Mentor Bill Ayers during his four years of employment for Bill. It’s funny how the past couple of days we keep hearing about angry, vicious McCain rallies when McCain or Palin calls attention to Obama’s Marxist baggage, but here we have Obama telling his supporters to go attack people who might not be voting for him, but I don’t see any journalists utilizing any hand wringing adjectives to describe his angry, vicious call to arms.

I strongly suspect we are undergoing a (so far) bloodless coup.

After the annointing in January we will see:

1. Increased wealth transfer:

2. Severe criminal penalties against any person who even breathes any criticism against a coalition(Blacks, gays, aliens,Third Worlders, and others) member:

3. The drive to eliminate Christian churches shall intensify:

4. Increased strictures against whites who apply for entrance into college;

5. Increased job discrimination against whites-especially by government employers, private employers will be whipped into line through the witholding or granting of goverment contracts:

6. Actual assaults against whites, and if any redress is sought by the white, judgment will be rendered in favor of the black, gay etc.

7. Lynchings of whites; 10. Talk radio, a potential source of resistance, will be totally changed into a leftist forum;

11. Graft and corruption on a scale never seen before in this country those in government annointed by "HIM"will probably take a "Tithe" from taxpayer funds; 12. In short, it aint gonna be nice "kinda" like Rhodesia, South Africa and Detroit writ large.

The 50-state campus [Mark Steyn]

Anyone wondering what my battle to restore the right to free speech in Canada has to do with America should read Michael Barone on “The Coming Obama Thugocracy”. WGN’s Milt Rosenberg, NR’s Stanley Kurtz and others have already been on the receiving end of the thugocracy. On the air with Milt the other night, I quoted Bob Hope and Bing Crosby:

He gets his shirts straight from Paris
Cigarettes from the Nile
He talks like a highbrow
But he plays Chicago style...

That’s Obama: highbrow enough for Christopher Buckley, Euro-bespoke (not sure where he gets his smokes these days - he’s a bit coy on that), but an old-fashioned Chicago bruiser who’ll order in anyone from Missouri sheriffs to the federal Justice Department if you run a TV ad he finds unhelpful.

An Obama-Pelosi Washington with 60 Senate seats would reintroduce the (Un)Fairness Doctrine, regulate the Internet, and wouldn’t be above oomphing up Canadian-style “human rights” commissions to police speech - especially if he gets to appoint three Supreme Court justices in short order.

I was especially struck by this passage from Michael:

Today’s liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college and university campuses where administrators, armed with speech codes, have for years been disciplining and subjecting to sensitivity training any students who dare to utter thoughts that liberals find offensive. The campuses that used to pride themselves as zones of free expression are now the least free part of our society.

Obama supporters who found the campuses congenial and Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech that they don’t like and seem utterly oblivious to claims that this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment.

Rush will wind up broadcasting from the Turks and Caicos Islands. But only until President Obama has a quiet word with Her Majesty’s Government.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Obama that were “false.’”

Obama clearly has no understanding of free speech. An Obama White House would install people on the Supreme Court that would enact speech codes and create totalitarian libel laws as exemplified by these disgraceful St. Louis cronies. Michael Barone is one of the first journalists that seems to be getting it.

This much is clear: Regardless of how the election goes next month, Conservatives have their work cut out for them. We might dodge a bullet on November 4 but the automatic weapon is still loaded and will be firing constantly from now on. We have come so close to losing (and still might lose) our nation because we have become complacent about our liberties and freedoms. We have ignored the university culture cited by Mr. Barone and have accepted gagging of churches in the name of separation of church and state. We have relinquished the arguments on political correctness on so many fronts that the other side takes it for granted they ahve free rein.

Clearly we will need to work, and work hard to do more than forestall the inevitable another four year, at most. We need true Conservative representatives at every level of government. We need to do everything we can to contract the power of the feds to govern every minutia of our lives, and we need to shove back on free speech. We need to either reform or leave public education to its cesspool politics and we need to do it without using governmental grants whose strings can strangle us in the cradle.

I do hope most people here on this forum are not just trying to get through November 4 before relaxing. The last thing we can afford to do is relax. Even if, and maybe especially if, McCain wins the election.

Bill Clinton used the IRS and the Secret Service to punish his critics-remember the Mendoza’s? The precedent is set, and the MSM has no problem with it. Obama will used law enforcement and the courts to punish his critics. Our freedoms are slipping away to populist facism.

Kenyan officials detain Obama detractor.

Missouri officials threaten Obama detractors with legal action unless ads are "truthful" per their definition.

DC Police arrest detractor, extradites to Delaware at the order of AG Beau Biden, held on false charges, then released close to the VP candidacy being announced for Joe Biden.

Germany, circa 1939 all over again.

So what if Obama puts a lot of restrictions and free speech or gets conservative talk show hosts thrown off the air? Why the Anointed One is so literate and speaks so well people like Christopher Buckley have assured us. According to Buckley (who read his books) that by itself qualifies Obama for the presidency. Forget about his radical past and his radical plans to change the America as we've known it.

He's not "common" like that ugh Sarah Palin or lacking in character like John McCain who merely fought for his country and spent four and one half years in captivity and was repeatedly tortured. Effete "conservative" snobs er enlightened people like Buckley believe Obama will refrain at the last minute from imposing his socialist agenda on the country. (smirk)
