Obama Admits Bumming Cigarettes on the Campaign Trail

Posted on 10/08/2008 7:58:42 AM PDT by mimi from mi

He's setting a wonderful example for the youth of America. I admit that I'm a smoker, but I'm not running for president.

Yeah, I heard him ... and the democrat fools just swoon over such Marxist crap. But I still live by my values and shun the Obamessiah’s demonic sludge.

It’s ben a little over 3 years since I quit and I still have cravings too. Thankfully they aren’t as strong as when I first quit but they are still there nearly daily. I know I can’t have even one puff or I will be right back to 3 packs a day.

If it turns out that we’re not seeing enough progress at the local level, then I would favor a national law.

Every chance this man has to p!ss, sh!t or puke on the Constitution, I swear to God, he'll take it.

Maybe this will be a SCOTUS litmus test of his:

"Do you believe the individual states should be allowed any rights whatsoever?"

"Well, I guess, that yes, there are some--"

"Next!

We now have a smoke free home but with less visitors than in the past.

If it were my relatives/in-laws, I'd be very happy.............

“I was in High School in the early 70’s, too. We would smoke in the girls room. Whoever happened to have a cigarette on them passed it around.. It was a Group Grub”!

...remember “hotboxing”? (smoking an entire cigarette in 30 seconds?) I’ve off of them for 19 years and still miss them. Cigs really are pretty evil. Fun but evil.

Eek! That would make me so ill! I always though "hotboxing" referred to smoking that wacky stuff in a car. I never did that, though.

But, then I thought about how often candidates eat food at various events and local diners. I would think the food could be tampered with even more easily than cigarettes, so maybe it isn’t such a big deal.

The USSS has it covered.

Maybe we should take a tip from ACORN, and offer him a box of smokes to vote for McCain.

I’m resigned to the cravings. I will never smoke again and the cravings are fleeting, but it does surprise me that I still have them after all these years. I bet if any of us lit one up we’d get nauseous and dizzy.

Yes you would get dizzy. I quit once for 21 days. I lit one and after about 3 draws, I was very dizzy, so I put it out and decided that I was officially a nonsmoker, but in a few minutes, I wanted more and I caved. One thing you can never do after you quit is take even one draw of a cigarette or you are right back to square one.

I quit.....several times..................

Quitting smoking is easy.

In fact, it's so easy that I've done it dozens of times.

The addiction is powerful, isn’t it? I fear I’d be hooked again too so I won’t go there. This must be what it’s like for alcoholics. So do you still smoke or were you able to quit?

I always vowed I would quit when I turned 40. Well, it took a few months PAST my 40th bd, but I did it. I've been smoke free for 16 months. Not a day goes by that I don't crave one (or 20).

I keep the reminder of my uncle with emphysema in my head to keep strong.

LOL.. Nah.. People who didn't know me would ask me if I was a teacher before they lit up! I was only 14! Ugh.
